I didn't watch the TCM broadcast of Son Of Godzilla(1967) but from what I read in a topic thread at ATARI it wasn't the AIP dubbed version.
It wasn't Pack. I turned it on in my office yesterday and it was a Toho/Tristar Dub. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't too good either.

Does anyone knows who played minya? Was it a child actor?
Listen kid, there are two things you didn't know about the Earth. One is me. And the other is... Godzilla

Minya was played by midget wrestler "Little Man" Machan in Son Of Godzilla(1967).

Machan's filmography: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0532546/

While authoring a mini-review of Son Of Godzilla at another message board I came across a sardonic 2005 review of this film authored by a Nathan Decker of Million Monkey Theater.com, which includes some nice screen caps from the movie: http://www.millionmonkeytheater.com/SonofGodzilla.html

Haha, great review. Hilarious stuff in there. I liked Son of Godzilla a lot when I was a kid. I probably wouldn't like it as much now, but from reading the review it seems like there's still a lot to like about this movie. And then there's the sentimental value that goes with it.

The R1 DVD released by Sony is excellent. The movie's colors look vibrant and the island cinematography also looks great. Watching this film in it's original aspect ratio and in Japanese language(w/English subtitles) is IMO the best way to watch and fully appreciate this film.

There are three reasons why I still watch this film:

-amazing sets and matte paintings
-Kumonga prop, both full body and the giant leg prop
-Kamakuras props. Awesome wire work

Son Of Godzilla is one of about 5 or 6 showa films that I don't mind watching every so often, maybe once a year. While I could easily go without some of them for years, Son of G is one I always want to come back to from time to time, and I think it's a testament to the film's redeeming qualities plus the fact that it brings back good childhood memories.

I feel the same way...before I use to detest this movie but now it's sorta of grown on me. In small doses I can handle this film (like the Mothra films).

Purchased it last Friday and watched it for the first time with a friend, I can probably safely say it's now one of my favorite Showa films.
