I couldn't agree more. The wire works effects were marvelous in SOG. I read somewhere that as many as three wires per Kamakiras had to be operated in order to bring these props to life.

I also thought Kumonga was the unofficial "star" of Son Of Godzilla. I liked the audio effects of the gigantic spider and also the effects used when Kumonga fired off its silk at the giant mantids, Minya and Godzilla.

Bonus - the film's Toho trailer:

Kumonga was a masterpiece. Period. And notice that in the trailer, there is a deleted scene from both JP and US version of the film... Godzilla going from beach to forest...

I said beach to forest, not forest to beach. It was a deleted clip from when Goji was comming ashore...

minilla always looked stupid in his first stage. i guess it was not that bad of a film. plus godzilla looked like a early versin of the heisei godzilla. lol.
the last scene is touching, but not a real good goji flick, not really.

Are there different endings for Son Of Godzilla(1967)? heyo

The ending on my DVD copy I have(the Sony release) has Godzilla and son in an embrace, Godzilla appearing to be trying to comfort Minya while snow, generated from the machine on Solgel Island, covers them and their island surroundings. The group of scientists and the island girl are off the island's coast and in a raft of some kind, watching the two monsters.

A comment like this can alienate, even offend another member of this message board, Evan. As hard as I've worked to make this board "member friendly" you can be certain that this remark does not go over well with me, young man. winky

Well, sorry if I offended. It is just surprising how something this simple can lead to talk of diffrent endings to a film, which Son of Godzilla doesn't have.
