God, I hope that after this the Plaza Theater shows this film. GMK was a blast and it would be fun to see KK vs. G on the big screen, since I have not seen it officialy. |

King Kong vs. Godzilla (キングコング対ゴジラ ,Kingu Kongu Tai Gojira?) is a 1962 tokusatsu kaiju film directed by Ishiro Honda with visual effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. It was the third installment in the Japanese series of monster films featuring the mutant dinosaur Godzilla. It is also the first time both King Kong and Godzilla appeared in color. |

Describing KK vs Godzilla as "bad" is obviously your prerogative, Evan. I will be the first to admit that there are several things about this film I detest: the Kong suit, which IMO looked terrible. The kaiju battle action also lacked in high speed filming, which took away any element of realism from the monster action. I also wasn't enamored with the humor in the film too much and the almost human like hand gestures of Godzilla are also something I dislike. There are many things I do like about King Kong Vs Godzilla. By "still popular" are you implying that this movie is still popular with most G fans? I ask because for the most part I see young(er) Godzilla fans very critical of this movie, even to the point of blasting the film outright. Most who like this movie seem to be older fans of the genre like myself.

 You really think that? From the various "G-Fest" videos I've seen posted it looks like most of those in attendance are younger, that is, pre-teenagers, teenagers, and young twenty and thirty somethings. Probably. I know that may be hard(er) for you to understand because you're fifteen years old. When you enter your thirties you'll be able to understand simply because you're older...and then able to feel a fondness and attachment to those things(and people) you were around as a teenager, as opposed to similar things that are current at that time. |
