That excsuse gets used alot with the Godzilla fandom. Now it has been used too much. There is a stoping line. The only reason I watch Monster Zero is because of the kaiju fights and Nick Adams in a rare role: an American!

I thought the Xians uniforms looked tacky. What looked even worse, IMO: those yellow outfits worn by the astronauts when they accompanied the Xians back to Planet X with the monsters. winky

This was caused most probably by Henry Saperstein...
heyo

Henry Saperstein was an American film distributor, G2K, and not an employee of Toho or someone who worked on these Godzilla films. You're saying that the design for the Xians' uniforms was because of some action and/or influence by Mr. Saperstein? huh?

If I recall correctly he also produced Monster Zero, along with Frankenstein vs. Baragon and War of the Gargantuas.

Henry Saperstein was responsible for getting Frankenstein Vs Baragon(1965) released to theaters in the U.S. in 1966 under the title "Frankenstein Conquers The World". Saperstein also got Invasion Of The Astro Monsters(1965) and War Of The Gargantuas(1966) a U.S. theatrical release in 1970, the American title of the 1965 Toho film called "Monster Zero". I believe these two films were commonly double billed in American theaters.

You recalled correctly, G2K. tongue-1

He was also executive producer. He actualy DID INFLUENCE Sekizawa's script (accouple of people who have critiqued this film) noticed that and some interviews explain that. He was more than just a mere distributor...

YES
I'd like you to provide me with a link supporting this, if you don't mind.

I have read that Henry Saperstein requested the "Devilfish" scene, as well as a few other scenes(including the Franken-boy tossing a car) be lensed by Toho for the American version of Frankenstein Vs Baragon, Toho complying with Saperstein's request. Director Inoshiro Honda didn't like the "Devilfish" scene, Honda believing the sudden appearance of a tentacled octopus-like creature in a nearby lake was far fetched. Saperstein also eventually agreed with Honda that this scene was best left out of the American version called "Frankenstein Conquers The World".

Here is one of many articles. It is going to take me accouple of days to find thiese articles, since I have to search through 20+ sites I go to... While not saying it is because of Saperstein itself, it does aknowlege Monster Zero's American feel which set it apart from the other films, even the other strewed film pre-Monster Zero King Kong vs. Godzilla...

You stated Henry Saperstein had an influence on the selection of yellow uniforms worn by actors Nick Adams, Akira Takarada and Jun Takazi in Invasion Of The Astro Monsters(1965). I have asked you for a link(a URL) that corroborates your assertion. Nothing more.

I haven't seen anything on the internet that says Saperstein was directly involved in the selection of these outfits. Hence why I have asked you for a link.

Here's the post where you answered "yes" to my question: http://s15.zetaboards.com/Monsterland_Forum/single/?p=8023937&t=16253

I said Xilian costumes. Not Nick Adams. The only thimg I mentioned of Nick Adams was that he got a rare roll getting the part of an AMERICAN... I love that.

It is not so much the selection of the XILIAN'S outfits as to how they are described in the INFLUENCED SCRIPT.

My yes is unchanged.

Where did you get that I was commenting on the space were of Nick Adams? I always ment the Xilians...

It's very simple: I believe the selection of the yellow outfits worn by the astronauts in this film, when they go back to Planet X with the Xians and the monsters, was made by Toho. I commented that I thought they looked tacky.

You posted "yes" to a question I posted in which I asked you if Henry Saperstein did something or otherwise influenced Toho to use these yellow outfits. You answered "yes".

I have asked you for a link thst supports your "yes" answer because I have seen nothing on the internet or in books that says Saperstein influenced Toho to use these yellow outfits.
