Definitely good news. I'll pick up both The Conqueror Worm and Food Of The Gods-at $14.98 each that's a good price. Besides, I have never seen either of these two films.

Wow. I think you'll be pleasantly entertained with both films. I love 'em both and can't wait to have a proper release of, Food of the Gods. thumbs up

Trivia: I saw it posted at another board, Kimi, that Empire of The Ants(1977) was originally going to be paired, on an MGM "Midnite Movies" disk, with Food Of The Gods(1976), but MGM opted instead to pair it with Tentacles(1976).

I posted this update in the 'DVDs Coming Soon" thread but here it is again:

Some additional "MGM Midnight Movies" double features coming to DVD on 9/11/07:

Pharaoh's Curse/Curse Of The Faceless Man
Return Of Dracula/The Vampire
The Beast With A Million Eyes/Phantom From 10,000 Leagues

Now, that would have been a fun double-feature disc. :) I have, Empire of the Ants, but it's a stand-alone disc.

Did you see that 20th Century Fox is also adding, 'Midnite Movies' to their feature discs, too?

I'll probably abstain from buying any DVD's in August...just so I can get the DVDs I want that are being released in September, a month that will surely be hell on my wallet. freak out

I'll try and hold off buying anything, but it may not be too tough, with packing and trying to move and all. :(

While I may not be able to buy all the DVD titles I want in September these are the ones I am most focused on getting:

The Burning(1981) -9/11/07
Witchfinder General(1968) -9/11/07
The Lost World(1960)SE -9/11/07
Robinson Crusoe On Mars(1964) -Sept/07
Terror Of Mechagodzilla(1975) -Sept/07 (Classic Media)
Alligator(1980) -9/18/07

Others I could wait 'til later to buy:

Godzilla's Revenge(1969) -9/11/07 (Classic Media)
-the other MGM Midnite Movies titles coming out 9/11/07 that aren't mentioned above

For the above list I'm thinking I will need around $150 to get all of them(this amount includes shipping), give or take a little $.

Great list of early, must-haves from September, Lee. I'll have to look at all the titles coming out in September and try and prioritize my wants, too.

Great list of early, must-haves from September, Lee. I'll have to look at all the titles coming out in September and try and prioritize my wants, too.

Here is a list, which I believe includes everything, of the MGM "Midnite Movies" DVDs and a few other titles being released on 9-11 and 9-18:

To be released on 9/11/07:

The Phantom From 10,000 Leagues/The Beast With A 1,000,000 Eyes
The Return Of Dracula/The Vampire
Yongary Monster From The Deep/Konga
The Beast Within/The Bat People
Witchfinder General
The Food Of The Gods
Tales Of Terror/Twice Told Tales
Tales From The Crypt/Vault Of Horror
Gorilla At Large/Mystery On Monster island
Devils Of Darkness/Witchcraft
Chosen Survivors/The Earth Dies Screaming
A Blueprint For Murder/Man In The Attic
The House On Skull Mountain/The Mephisto Waltz
The Burning(1981)
Scarecrows(1988)

Add to this list The Lost World(1960) and that's 16 titles I'm going to pre-order a week before 9/11.
The following week I'm going to order Alligator(1980)(Lionsgate Home Video) and from what I've read the two Classic Media "Godzilla" films, Terror Of Mechagodzilla and Godzilla's Revenge will release in early September. Overall that's 19 titles. I figure at an average price of $15 that's $235 plus shipping, which might make the final tally in the $250-260 range.

In October I will be buying Icons Of Horror Collection-Sam Katzman, VTTBOTS-Season 3/Volume 2, Planet Terror(2007), Death Proof(2007), The Classic Sci-Fi Ultimate Collection 2, and Criterion's Robinson Crusoe On Mars(1964). I figure these titles together will run me around $175, including shipping.
It's possible Kimi I will spend, between both September and October, on DVDS, nearly $450.

freak out

I'll be picking at least 3 of these up since that is how much I believe my budget will allow. Which ones is the tough question.

Going off topic, I see you are planning on picking up that Tarantino/Rodriguez Grindhouse film, Lee. That movie was partially filmed here in Austin and stars an Army vet friend of mine as an extra. He came from San Antonio and stayed with us for 3 days while filming.

He was an extra only in Tarantino's film. He mentioned seeing Russell and Tarantino on set. He said Russell appeared nice but due to the busy nature of the shoot he didnt want to attempt to disrupt things. He said Tarantino was running around set like a madman, and appeared extremely busy.
