I just thought of this match, and boy, would there be a lot of action in this fight.
Monsters: Gomora and Red King
Area: Japan's mountain side
Rules: Both monsters keep everything they already had
Prediction: This is truly a fight of pure strength, both monsters evenly matched. I think Red King has the advantage with his height though, so he wins it after a helluva fight!

Indeed. Both monsters possess no rays or beam weapons so it would be a brawl. Though I think both Red King and Gomora are evenly matched I would point out two potential advantages for Gomora: 1. Gomora has a powerful tail, which he obviously knows how to employ as a weapon(recall his first battle with Ultraman) 2. Gomora has a horn on his face, which could also be used as a ramming/spearing/impaling weapon. Based on these two advantages I think Gomora would win this hard fought battle. :)

I nearly forgot about his tail, which has a mind of its own (litrally) after seeing it that way, I think it would actually be a tie now. Red Kin gwas able to stand up to and defeat to monsters, both having sharp claws and horns, that didn't slow him down much in beating the crap out of them.

No but I do not think Red King would be able to "beat the crap out of" Gomora without himself being beaten to a pulp. tongue-1

This fight definetly would be interesting. Despite Gomora's physical features, Red King has always exhibited an iron will and tenacity and would pour every inch of himself into a fight.

I still think Gomora would prevail, though admittedly barely as Red King, as has been pointed out, is a tenacious fighter. Gomora seems to have a lower center of gravity, which I think enabled him to give Ultraman so much trouble. Just my opinion.

Here's another Fantasy match that might be fun to imagine:

Gigan (Showa) Vs. Yongary (1960's)

Gigan has his beam, tummy saw, and claws, but Yongary has his breath plus a very powerful horn laser, not to mention features similar to Godzilla such as teeth and claws. What do you think?

I think this would be, for me, a hard fight to predict because, as you pointed out Josh, both monsters have weapons. Were the fight to be fought close in I'm inclined to think Gigan could inflict a mortal wound on Yongary, perhaps a more devastaing injury than Gigan getting clawed or bitten by Yongary. If Yongary were to keep away from Gigan's chest saw and employ his oral fire, he might be able to incinerate Gigan. Were the monsters to fight ten times, both would win their share, but I'm still thinking Gigan would win the majority, say six times out of the ten battles.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Yongary could win if he used the horn laser from far enough away to cut Gigan in half. But Gigan would probably take the victory if it came to a melee situation.

I kind of messed this thread up, as I should have started a new one for a new pair of monsters. Oh well. The next fight I ponder will receive it's own thread. dancing cheeky smiley

No problem, Josh. You didn't "mess up". I'll tell you what messing up is. Last year I inadvertently deleted 23 posts in the "Video Game" forum, just as it was starting to show some activity. That's messing up. freak out
