Why was the video of the widescreen version of Godzilla vs. Cosmic Monster titles taken off of Youtube?
I've read that Toho is cracking down on YouTube to not display these videos hence YouTube may have effected the removal of this clip. The person who posted this clip may have also removed it voluntarily.
Uh oh. shifty eyes

I wouldn't worry about it Crow. The worst that can happen is that YouTube asks you to remove the videos, or they remove them themselves. There was a long topic thread at the ATARI Godzilla threads about YouTube's recent attempts to remove Godzilla movie video clips. Many fans openly questioned Toho's motives. My take on all of this is fairly simple: while I would hope Toho would look the other way regarding these videos, many of them fan made clips, the fact is this company owns the rights to Godzilla and they have the right to request removal of these clips, whether we as fans like it or not.

Ah, k. Thanks. I'd be fine with them just asking me to remove them. I was just worried I'd get shut down completely.

Just that stuff like that gets under my skin. I mean, Baradagi, who is the master of Godzilla in youtube terms had all three english varriations of Godzilla vs. Gigan's title sequence up:

Godzilla on Monster Island
Godzilla vs. Gigan
War of the Monsters (from great brittan)

And toho was mean enough to delete that. I wanted to burn thoe onto disc! Badstards... first you kill everything good about goji and then you kill all records of british and american versions of the 70's films.

I understand your frustration G2K but I can't see Toho allowing people, en masse, to post fan videos of their films, or parts of their films, on YouTube, a form of media that can be viewed by millions of people. Godzilla is their character, and Godzilla films are their property, which must be respected. winky

Yes, I do, but I have purchased none in over four years. I'm not planning on buying anymore either. I own about a dozen(12) DVD-R's and I have subsequently purchased official R1, R2 and R3 DVDs of every DVD-R equivalent disc title.

Practice what you preach...
I do, every day. I started this message board two and a half years ago, of which I have invested countless hours of my own personal time, and with no compensation, to promote horror and sci-fi movies, as well as Godzilla and other Toho films. I continue to invest my time and efforts to facilitate the continuation of this board. I have spent several hundred dollars of my hard earned money buying official Godzilla DVDs for friends as gifts to promote the monster. I have also invested over $1000 in Godzilla collectibles. As far as I'm concerned Toho is getting free advertising from me, G2K, so you'll forgive me if I don't feel the least bit guilty about owning a dozen DVD-R copies of their Region 2 titles. winky

I don't feel bad about buying bootlegs of the films that aren't released on Region 1. It's the only way to get the Japanese versions of Return of Godzilla, Godzilla vs Biollante, Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs Mothra, Godzilla vs Destoroyah, etc.

When they release good Region 1 versions of the films, then I'd be happy to buy them again.

Here's the Sony released double feature of Godzilla Vs SpaceGodzilla/Godzilla Vs Destoroyah: http://www.amazon.com/Godzilla-vs-SpaceGodzilla-Destoroyah/dp/B00003L9CB

It's Region 1 and both films are presented in 1:85.1 widescreen. I have this disc. The prints of both look fine but the audio option is English language only.

Sony has also released Godzilla Vs Mothra/Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah on a R1 double feature DVD as well but the aspect ratios of both on this disc are 1:33.1 full screen(cropped images), and not their original aspect ratio.

Exactly. I'll wait until they release the original versions of the films.
