i like the Explosions in this Godzilla movie more than anyother Showa Godzilla film. Especially when MechaGodzilla Destroys most of the city, it's all very cool. |

I really liked the serious tone of this movie which was a change of pace from the campiness of the last six made between Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla. The fx are good as well Titanosaurus's attack on the submarine looked pretty real. |

Just watched this for the first time tonight and DUDE! This is a great movie! I love how seriously everyone approached the acting, the storyline was outrageous but it was performed with the utmost earnestness and that is not easy (irony can kill the mood with this sort of movie). I also loved the costumes, from the amazing 70s pants, to the great silver jumpsuits and the alien helmets which kick ass! The guy who played Godzilla this time did some great tumbling and rolling. I loved watching Titanasaurus kick the hell out of Godzilla. The rampant destruction was fantastic and again all the better since the movie was winking and nodding knowingly through the devastation. Obviously Mechagodzilla is cool and I love the missile hands. I'm not much for owning toys but I wouldn't say no to a giant Shogun Warrior sized Mechagodzilla, that would be great! I loved that the first appearance of Godzilla was from his atomic breath and it came from offscreen, that was a bold directing choice. Fake plastic boobs (living in California these are not uncommon, but not attached to cyborgs, which makes them cooler). Spoiler: click to toggle Mad scientists and aliens who laugh evilly! Honestly I think I write ten pages on all the things I loved here (and I didn't even mention the "They blowed up real good" explosions, which were eye popping). A great movie, I want to watch it again now with the commentary. |

I actually think the Black Hole aliens that appear in Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla(1974) and Terror Of Mechagodzilla(1975) are the coolest looking aliens of the Showa Godzilla film era. I'd give the Xians from Invasion Of The Astro Monsters(1965) more props if it wasn't for their skin tight uniforms.

I'd definitely sit down with the full movie again next time you have the chance. I'm watching it a second time right now with the informative commentary. |

I watched this again last week. Still remains one of my favorites. I'll always remember when WLVI Channel 56 in Boston had the world television premiere for it on a Friday night. Me and my friends sat around that TV and didn't move for two hours while my Mom was bringing us snacks to eat. The prologue of Godzilla before the movie is still one of the best parts to me. Great times back in those days. |

Was pondering this film after briefly discussing with G2K master. I may need to see it again from Classic Media. As I recall little. But from what I do Recollect, it is a differently paced film. Darker even. (Maybe with the Human cast in mind) But some of the monster drama is suggestive too, consider the tragic life of Titanosaurus. I think it's because this being the last of the Showa films, and Ishiro Hondas Last. (Akira Ifukube does a phenomenal job as well) |

That be a negative. Not really a fast purchaser. Is it true there is nudity in the Japanese version? Not that it matters necessarily, I'm just surprised considering Godzilla films don't usually do that, if ever. |

It's just a few-second shot of Katsura's chest as she lies on the operating table. And it's fake. It kind of creeps me out, in fact. Also, I had never seen the prologue before the movie until I got the Classic Media set. It was kind of cool. |

I watched this movie again last night, and I realized something: Godzilla was running in slow motion straight into hailstorms of enemy fire while the 80s action heroes were still in boot-camp.
