2 of the strongest kaiju facing each other off! Zeton (Ultraman) vs Showa Ghidorah (Godzilla) Both are scaled to the same size. I can't decide on this one. |

I can. Some things to consider before picking my winner: King Ghidorah-his primary weapons are the destructive gravity beams fired from each of the three heads-these beams, as has been demonstrated by their use in the various Godzilla films starring this monster, are capable of, and quite often, blast buildings apart. Ghidorah also has the ability to fly. Zeton-featured in episode 39 of the original Ultraman, this "space dinosaur" appeared to move stiffly vs Ultraman, but fought Ultraman to a standstill, which lead to it's absorbing Ultraman's spacium beam and firing it back into the giant superhero's chest, severely damaging Ultraman's colortimer, which resulted in Ultraman being rendered powerless. There have been many who have argued that Ultraman simply underestimated Zeton, as evidenced by Ultraman Zoffy's remark(to Ultraman) that "your powers are superior to his. How did you allow him to defeat you?". I submit that Zeton, who may have indeed been underestimated by Ultraman, might still have won this battle, even if Ultraman knew in advance that his spacium beam would not work, and would possibly be used against him by Zeton. That said I predict that Zeton would win, and that is under the premise that Ghidorah is scaled to Zeton's size(40-45 meters?) If Zeton could absorb and turn Ultraman's spacium beam against him, I see no reason to think he could not do the same against King Ghidorah and the three-headed monster's gravity beams.

Zeton got lucky in his fight with Ultraman. He's a chump. King Ghidorah is extremely powerful. Remember that it took the combined might of Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan to drive him off in their first encounter. And in Destroy All Monsters it took a virtual kaiju army to finally destroy him. Winner: King Ghidorah! |

I'm with you that King Ghidorah is extremely powerful, but I do not think Zeton got "lucky"-if he did it was because he made his own luck in his fight against Ultraman. Personally, I think that, were Zeton and Ghidorah to fight ten times, Ghidorah would probably win the majority of them(say 6 of them anyway). I still think Ultraman might have have been defeated by Zeton even without his colortimer being disabled. nod |
