I may re-subscribe when we hear rumblings of a new film.  2013 is still a ways off.

Actually there's a Godzilla film due for release in 2007, a film in 3D!!!
The main villain may well be Hedorah!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla_3D_%28film%29

I'm sure G-Fan will have a film review in the magazine.
'The void is that which stands right in the middle between this and that. The void is all-inclusive, having no opposite — there is nothing which it excludes or opposes. It is living void, because all forms come out of it and whoever realizes the void is filled with life and power and the love of all things' - Bruce Lee

Indeed, it is a 40 minute IMAX film. I look forward to seeing it. I believe it will be a lot of fun to watch! thumbs up

The Kaiju Video Game Retrospect

By Thomas R VanSlambrouck aka TJ

Hello and welcome to the first installment of The Kaiju Video Game Retrospect, the first kaiju game I’d like to talk about is Godzilla, Monster of Monsters for the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES. In these retrospect’s I’ll be talking about classic kaiju games all the way up to the Dreamcast, I’ll give a synopsis, talk about the characters you can play, the system it was on, the controls, and so forth.
The first game I’d like to talk about is Godzilla, Monster of Monsters for the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Most of you that had a NES probably had this game. In it you play the role of either Godzilla or Mothra trying to protect the Earth and other planets from Planet X which has declared war on Earth, they use kaiju as there instrument of destruction, the kaiju are Gezora from Yog fame, Varan, MechaGodzilla, Hedorah, Baragon, King Ghidorah, Gigan, and Mogera from the Mysterians. Mantango mushrooms, Dogoras and Manda even make cameos in the game as does the Gotengo aka Atragon.
Each level starts out on a game board and you move either Godzilla or Mothra either up, down, left, or right, the object is to get to the end of the board but with each board piece you land on you have to go through a stage fighting various planes, tanks, masers, etc from all Toho’s Sci-Fi films up to Godzilla 1985 or fight the monster(s) on the planet. If you land next to a board with a kaiju you can choose to fight the kaiju which will take you to a “boss” battle screen which is a black screen depicting your health and power and your opponents health and power.  The planets you go to are Earth, Jupiter, Mars, Neptune, Pluto, Uranus, and Planet X.
The controls are very simple when on the game board you select your monster with A then press either up, down, left, or right to move the kaiju in either of the directions and when you stop on a piece you automatically go into an action stage. The controls for Godzilla in action stages are UP to jump in the air, LEFT to move Godzilla forward, DOWN to crotch, RIGHT to move Godzilla backward. The attack buttons are A, B, and Start, A causes Godzilla to punch, B causes to Godzilla to kick or if you’re crotched Godzilla will swing his tail. Start allows you to fire Godzilla’s Signature breath.
The controls for Mothra are very similar, UP makes Mothra fly up, DOWN makes her fly down,  LEFT  and RIGHT make her fly either forward or backward, A and B both cause Mothra to shoot out a little “bullet” from her antennae, and her special move is her poison powder, you use this by hitting start. The select button is used to pause the game.
Boss battles are fairly simple, you go to the black battle screen and the object is to get your opponent’s health down to nothing after that it cuts to the game board and shows the monster exploding and dropping from the board. The final boss on Planet X is King Ghidorah and he is very, very difficult
Some strategy tips I’ve learned from the game is use Mothra to fight monsters that fire a beam because you can position yourself on the board so that she can’t get hit with the attacks. Godzilla’s breath is very useful against boss monsters like Gezora and Varan.
There are a few cheats in the game as well they are as follows:
Destroy all Monsters-Causes all the boss monsters in the game to appear on Earth. There isn’t an O in the game so instead use the 0 for an O, the code will look like this if you enter it correctly DESTR0Y AL L M0NSTERS
MONSTER 0- Entering this code will cause King Ghidorah to appear on Earth the code should look like this M0NSTER 0.
Start to End-This code plays the beginning and ending screens in the game. The code should look like this START T0 E ND.
The differences between the American and Japanese version is quite significant. The title screen features the Mosu-Goji suit from Mothra vs Godzilla and Ghidrah, the title in Japanese is just Godzilla. The monsters regenerate health faster in the Japanese version and the names of the monsters are different although they’re not quite different.

The screens where taken with emulation software which is illegal unless you own the game, if you don’t own it then you need to delete the file off your computer with in 24 hours. Again the purpose of this ROM was for screenshots only.

I plan on sending the images to JD separtly so that he can add them into the article later. They will strech the article out.

That's considerate of you. I think he would appreciate the gesture. Based on the quality of the content in your article, I see no reason why it will not make it's way into G-Fan, sooner or later. Hopefully sooner. Have you written other articles? If not, are you going to write more in the future? :)

Well I'd like this to be a staple in G-Fan for hopefully awhile I have enough material to work with for quite some time. I have Ultraman games, a few Gamera games, and many many Godzilla games I won't be covering Destroy all Monsters Mellee or Save the Earth because those have been covered enough in my opinion.

This is going to be my first article for G-Fan, I was going to do a web page design article but I figured it wouldn't garner sufficient interest besides that there are plenty of places on the web and books to teach you what I planned on doing.

Lee I'm glad you enjoyed it hopefully everyone elses does to and I'd love to get some more responses in this thread. Mr Green tongue-1

And in celebration of my article

If you want to post more or all of your work here I can always make a forum for it, which could include your username. "Legionmaster" posted some of his written material several months ago, but all of it is posted at Toho Kingdom, where he has a bigger audience, and I can understand why he would concentrate his submissions on a large board. "King Joe" has posted a great deal of his sprite comics here, but the vast majority of it is at his freewebs.com site. While I can offer you a forum for your work here in it's entireity, I cannot offer you a grand audience. I started this site on a whim, believe it or not-it was about six weeks later, when I started to get the hang of performing site modifications(via the invisionfree skin zone site), and actually saw regular visitations from members, that I decided to put some real effort into this site, which I have. While the site modifications have come along, the membership here has grown very slowly. You would be surprised Tom, at how many "dead" or abandoned, and floundering invisionfree sites there are. IMO there are a glut of them on the internet, started and then abandoned or neglected when the creator(s) of the sites get frustrated due to lack of activity and such. I know, as I have felt that frustration as well. My best quality I think is that I am a worker, and take a methodical approach to everything I do in life. That approach, and mentality, coupled with realistic expectations, keep me, and this discussion site, moving forward. It is my hope to have, by the end of the year, about forty(40) members. By the end of next year hopefully double that(80). In two years I think this site can enjoy a 100+ membership list.
So for now I will continue to keep plugging. Whatever you decide to do with your written material, know that it will always be welcome, and appreciated, by me and the other active members here. :)

Anything I can do to help you get your work in front of people I will, count on it. Part of my job as the admin here is to make sure that happens, regarding you, Corey, or anyone else that wants to share their talents in writing, artwork, or related. After all, this site is for you, and every other registered member. Mr Green
