Actually I had to correct the title to one of my recent DVD buys: The Beast On Bray Road(not "The Beast Of Bray Road). I saw part of this movie on the Sci-Fi Channel(before falling asleep). It is supposedly based on actual events, and chronicles a Wisconsin town terrorized by a creature purported to be a werewolf.

I enjoyed The Flesh Eaters(1964)-the DVD cover is very nice, and the treatment Dark Sky films affords this older horror film is very good. There is also a brief intro(the inside DVD cover sleeve) by Arnold Drake, who made the film, a brief recap of his motivation(s) for making this movie. The DVD menu includes the "Nazi experiment" scenes. There was no colorization at all of the film I watched. I did not see it listed as an "extra". This movie was actually I think the first horror film to display uninhibited gore, though by the meatgrinder horror films about nowadays(take "Hostel" for example) The Flesh Eaters is tame. Still, a fun movie to watch. As I have said many times, I am a huge fan of 60's sci-fi and horror.

Another DVD I bought at Best Buy: Cult Horror Collection-by St. Claire Vision(St. Claire Entertainment Group)
This set is comprisd of three(3) discs and nine(9) movies:
1. Don't Look In The Basement(1973)
2. Memorial Valley Massacre(1988)
3. Kill Baby Kill(1966)
4. The Demon(1976)
5. The Hatchet Murders(1975)
6. Pieces(1983)
7. Silent Night, Bloody night((1973)
8. Night Of Bloody Horror(1974)
9. Horror Rises From The Tomb(1972)

The price for this set of movies was $6.99 plus tax. thumbs up

I broke a two week and a few days of non-DVD purchases, yesterday. Mr Green

I picked up:

-Cross of Iron (Pekinpah)
-Anthropophagus: The Grim Reaper
-Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster
-Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Season 1/Volume 2
-The Cosby Show Season 1 (Purchased Used for Under @20!)
-The Simpsons Christmas 2 (Purchased Used)

You were correct, Lee, Carol, my roommate went to the associate at Best Buy and asked about Ultraman...they said they had one copy, but it was gone. I was shocked to find, Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster at Best Buy!

Glad to see you were able to get Frankenstein Meets The Space Monster(1965) and Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea-Season 1, Vol 2 on DVD. I'm assuming you already have Season 1, Vol 1 of VTTBOTS.

Kimi, I found the Ultraman BCI DVD at the first Walmart I went to today. They also had the first two(and currently only ones released) volumes of the 1974 Hanna-Barbera Godzilla animated series on DVD. I snapped them both up quick. They were actually three(3) more Ultraman BCI DVD's left in the rack when I left. I have read on a few other sites that members are finding the BCI(Ultraman) disc at Walmart, and not Best Buy and Circuit City. Speaking of CC, I went to two(2) today, neither of which had the Ultraman DVD-they carried it but it was sold out, and because they only stock one copy of it a week.

Recommendation: also try and get the Dark Sky Films DVD of The Flesh Eaters(1964)-it is very good. thumbs up

I'm bummed, we have two Wal*Mart stores that I would consider local....one is about 25-30 minutes away and the other is about an hour and neither one has Ultraman. :( If I want to get this, I have a feeling I'll have to order it online.

Agreed. thumbs up I think I got that disc just before or after Thanksgiving, last year. Dark Sky Films are very much impressing me with their film choices and efforts.

As much as I was delighted to find the Ultraman BCI DVD at WalMart, and the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla animated series vols. 1 and 2 there as well, I doubt if I will be shopping at this, or any Walmart again, anytime soon. As I discovered during my visit to WalMart, the store was chaotic with people, mostly moms and children. Understand that I have absolutely nothing against families, parents and their kids, but I am always uncomfortable having to dodge the tykes as they scamper around in the aisles, the parents often blocking aisles with their carts. I got what I wanted and got the hell out of there as fast as I could. Several people I spoke to in line(a long one) waiting to be checked out told me that in Walmart crowds, long lines, and slow cashiers are a given, at any WalMart location. Comments Kimi, about WalMart? eyebrow

The Wal*Mart chain is somewhat new to my area, by that I mean, I bet both stores in my area probably haven't been here for more than 10-15 years. It was a big deal to a lot of people when they first came and I enjoyed their 72 hours of being open non-stop, once 'Black Friday' was upon us, but never shopped there too much as a rule. Then, I became unable to work because of my illnesses and found myself at one or the other store once a week or a couple times a month and I agree, wild kids running around, parents with HUGE carts full of items in my way and loooong lines make it a tough place to go into. The worst part for me is the total lack of DVDs I always seem to be searching for. :( Now, that's not to say I don't purchase dVDs at Wal*Mart from time to time, but more often than not, I come away with a big old frown on my face. thumbs down

I actually located the 2-disc DVD for, Grizzly and the Ultraman collection, yesterday! thumbs up We headed up to NY state and I located, Grizzly in FYE....the only copy and Ultraman at a new Best Buy in that area. The Best Buy actually had four copies on their shelf. We then went to the Super Wal*Mart, I was hoping they might have put out the Magilla Gorilla collection out early....they didn't, but they also had copies of Ultraman at that Wal*Mart, albeit, about $6 more than Best Buy was offering it for.

I'm an Ultraman virgin in the viewing department, so seeing these episodes will be my first viewing.....I'll report back after watching a few to let you know my thoughts. :)

I'm glad to hear that you found both the Ultraman DVD and the SE Grizzly DVD. There is no FYE in these parts. As I mentoned I will no doubt order it online, along with another AWOL DVD title, Space Amoeba. Recommendation: put Garuda on your radar screen for purchase Kimi. It's a Thai film about a giant(15 ft tall) gryphon-like monster. It's decent. It was released recently, though I forget the releasing authority. Do a search engine for "Garuda". :)

I have the DVD-R of this film, but like a few other DVD-R's in my library, it's playback is often "twitchy" depending on which DVD player I use. I have not seen this title whatsoever at Best Buy or Circuit City, which I'm sure comes as no surprise to you. It certainly wasn't to me. evil beaver

I definitely need to get this DVD, be it a rental or an outright purchase. I know I haven't seen it in any store, locally, so when I decide to pick it up, it will be ordered, online.
