They say laughter is good medicine, that it does the heart and mind good, in moderation I suppose, like everything else in life. There are many styles of comedy around on television these days, just like in the past. My favorite style of comedy is slapstick, no doubt about it. When it comes to slapstick the masters were, and IMO always will be, The Three Stooges: Moe, Larry and Curly. Shemp is also quite good, though I never enjoyed his shenanigans quite like Curly's. The hair-brained antics and hilarious situations these three got into, created by themselves, or both, are I think some of the funniest things I have ever seen on television, and these three men were, together, among the funniest people who ever lived. Talk all things "Three Stooges" right here. All replies welcome. B)

Thread starter: two of my favorite episodes are when the Stooges are tasked with catering a large, formal party, and also when they are trapped in a hotel...with a werewolf. laughing smiley

I have always been a fan of the Three Stooges, I always preferred them to, Laurel & Hardy, although I guess L&H aren't really considered slapstick. I can't really give a favorite episode, as it's been a long while since I've seen any episodes, but always got a kick out of any episodes, shown.

I even enjoy the animated series the Stooges had! Mr Green

The Three Stooges would have been, based on their television fiascos, completely at home in an insane asylum

I agree with you. Watching Moe get dinged and whapped, and retaliate by poking Curly in the eyes or giving him a jab in the gut, followed by a brisk slap to the face, still makes me laugh. These guys elevated slapstick, IMO, to an art form. laughing smiley

They really forged the way for so many other 'physical' comedians, but they still did it the best. Mr Green

Ah the three stooges. I have a bunch of dvds including 2 three stooges dvds in color. I think the funniest episode is disorder in the court wear the stooges go on trial. Curly was so funny in that one. When the judge says take the stand Curly picks up the chair and says "I got it now what". Curly and Shemp have always been the funniest.
