I probably do a ton more purchasing at Borders than I do at Barnes & Noble, but I have purchased a few Criterion titles as well as some Asian titles at B&N.

I have never shopped at Borders. How does their DVD inventory compare to that of Barnes & Noble?

Topic: more titles I'd like to see on Region 1 DVD:

1. The X From Outer Space(1967)
2. Mothra(1961)

Thanks for the heads-up Dan. I have never shopped at Borders, but I will in the near future, as there are several fairly close to where I live. thumbs up

The one B&N we occasionally go to has a nice foreign section that might be just ever-so-slightly better than Borders, but overall, I enjoy my trips to Borders a lot more. I sometimes can find 5-10 DVDs I'd love to go home with, there! Mr Green

I used to go to Suncoast with my dad all the time. Before it closed down, they used to have a pretty good selection of DVDs although they were a bit pricey. Of course Barnes and Noble and Borders are both expensive too. I tend to stick with Best Buy, Circuit City, and Amazon. Although, Walmart has pretty good DVD prices too. I remember buying STAR WARS: ATTACK OF THE CLONES for $9.99 the day it was released. That was a spectacular price for a two-disc set.

Yes, I have, Lee. I don't get there very often, as the only store I know of is an hour away, if they weren't shut down, that is.

I used to find some really great titles, there, they seemed to carry the kind of titles I was looking for, but as Ro-Dan, mentioned, they are pricey. :(

I use to go to the Suncoast Motion Picture Co. store at Northlake Mall(about 20 minutes by vehicle from my residence) all the time. Imagine my disgust when I go to this mall only to find it closed-and it was the only store in the entire mall that was closed. To this day I have no idea why it closed-it may not have turned a profit, or the rent may have gone up(charged by the mall office), or a combo of both. It was replaced by a store called Things Remembered, some kind of novelty shop I think. thumbs down

Other things I would like to see on officaial Region 1 DVD, that aren't:
Animation:
1. The Herculoids(1967)
2. Space Ghost(1966), and not the 1981 SG series, which was, IMO, crap compared to the older animated series
3. Jonny Qwest(1964)
4. Frankenstein Jr. (1965)
5. The Impossibles(1965)
6. Galaxy Trio(1967)

Kimi, this is the original series? The one with Tim Mathieson voicing Jonny Quest? I ask because I know there was remake of this series in the 90's-it was okay, but still nowhere near as good, IMO, as the original 60's series. eyebrow

If you don't mind, Lee, I think I can answer that. You'll notice the label at the top says "Hanna-Barbera Golden Collection". "Golden" implies that it's a classic series. The newer 90's show you are reffering to is THE REAL ADVENTURES OF JOHNNY QUEST.

Thanks for the heads up Dan. One thing that threw me off as well was the "Season One" on the cover. To my knowledge there are(or I thought were)only around 14 or 15 episodes of the original Jonny Quest from the 60's-the DVD cover states there are 26 episodes and "Season One"-oh well, another godd*mn DVD I'll ending up chasing down, much like a dog chasing his on tail freak out

That's the same problem I had with my THE CHALLENGE OF THE SUPERFRIENDS DVD set. It stated on the box "Season One". However, they only made one season (16 episodes) of COTS. It's a little misleading. What the label really should have read was "The Complete Series".

I'm not sure why they sometimes do add, 'Season 1' to the title, they also did that to, The Jetsons, I know there was an 80s or 80s version of that series, but it was nothing like the original, so in my mind, it doesn't count.

The Jonny quest collection is definitely worth picking up, Lee, it looks great! thumbs up
