Some of these films look tempting but the cash flow is going to be a bit tighter around my house with the baby on the way.

Thread drift: when is your baby due? heyo

Topic: which MGM Midnite Movies titles are you going to try and get?

I wanted to get Fall of the house of Usher, the Yongary/Konga combination and the Panic In the year zero/Last man on earth combination.

About the baby, it is confirmed to be a boy and should arrive in mid-February. The latest ultrasound was good news for us, as they noted the child looked healthy and had no issues with any bodily defects or other birth defects such as down syndrome.

You'll especially enjoy Yongary. The print looks really good and it's in 2:35.1 widescreen aspect ratio.

I know that's a relief. Great news indeed. :)

How about the b-side to this disc, Konga? Any good? I have never seen this film.

Konga(1961) is just fine as part of this MGM Midnite Movies disc. I also have Konga as a stand alone title on disc. You'd probably like this movie, Josh-the effects ain't the best but Michael Gough(who played Alfred in the first two Burton-directed "Batman" films by the way) gives a pretty good performance as an obsessed and egotistical scientist who's responsible for the creation of the giant gorilla in this movie.

Sounds fun. I may end up asking the old man for these films as a Christmas gift. Im kinda behind on my movie viewing anyhow, so I would probably be more ready to watch them by then. Concerning my own purchases, I recently ordered Varan the unbelievable.

Amazon is having another Blu-ray sale, theres about 200 titles priced between about 14 and 20 bucks each. I skipped out on the last BOGO sale, so I may pick something up this time. A couple notables:

20 Million Miles To Earth for 14.49
Evil Dead 2 for 16.99

I may pick those up, havent decided yet.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=...&pf_rd_i=507846

Lee, they also have the first Underworld film for 14.49.

That's a good deal, Josh. Consider that the Blockbuster Video across the street from my employer sells this movie on Blu-Ray for $26.99. freak out

Yeah I remember you said you were thinking about picking up that film. With their free shipping it's not too bad a deal.

In the Sunday target ad (3/16/08) they are running a BOGO sale on a limited number of blu-ray discs. There are some decent films, but the selection is not very wide. Some of the titles included Saw IV, Ratatouille, 300, Casino Royale, Spider-Man 3, and Ocean's Thirteen. I havent been able to find anything about this sale online, so it may be only available in-store.
