Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

Many thank Kimi. I hope, at forty-five years of age, I can go another forty or forty-five years. I'm sure going to try.

As for DVDs I know(though I'm not supposed to  ) that I will be receiving Casino Royale(2006) and Touch Of Evil(1958)(from a friend) this weekend. I am also being treated to dinner by my girlfriend Saturday night-she said she had a "surprise" for me- be it a DVD or something else I'm sure I'll like it.

You're most welcome, Lee and here's hoping you easily see another 40-45 years. Mr Green

Cool birthday gifts and I am sure anything given to you is always appreciated. :)

There's actually a website that "predicts" the year you die, based on info you enter about yourself: age, smoker/non-smoker, personality, general disposition about things. Based on my info this site predicted I would expire in 2035 at age 73. I'm going to enjoy proving that website wrong. nod

Another program I have always liked is Zone Alarm. I used to have it on my old computer. Because Bellsouth techs told me I didn't need it with their internet security suite installed, I removed it from my current computer. Zone Alarm.com

Are you buying the entire McAfee Security package or just McAfee Anti-Virus, Kimi? eyebrow

If this is the same site, I believe I visited this several years back, but can't recall my year of death....never too long of a life, if memory serves me correctly. freak out

I'm hoping to purchase the entire package. Things went a little nuts, here, today. I had a Dr's appointment about some recent health issues and Carol became ill, yesterday....she went to work this AM, but got to feeling so poorly, she made a Dr's appointment and she has pneumonia! I spent most of the afternoon running for prescriptions for Carol and myself as well as getting a few items and never got to place my order for McAfee, hope finances will allow that, today!

I got really sick back in 1996. I lost ten pounds that week-fever, occasional vomiting, aches and pains in all my joints. I went to an outpatient non-emergency treatment clinic not far away and was examined. The doc told me I was bordering on pneumonia. He gave me a shot of antibiotics, then told me to drink a lot of water, continue to get rest, stay inside, and I also was given a prescription for my congestion. After about a week I was back on my feet. The sickest I have ever been in my entire life. How do you treat pneumonia nowadays? eyebrow

I swear, Lee, when I was a wee little lass, they gave me injections every time I was ill, it seemed and at the time, I was terrified of shots! Since I became an adult, they NEVER give injections of antibiotics, these days and I think if they would, people would get better a lot faster. Now, they try oral antibiotics and if after a few days, you're no better, they try something new. I wonder if a Dr even carries syringes as part of their inventory, these days? eh?

I wonder if my own doctor carries golf clubs around, and perhaps keeps his golfing accessories at his office. His office hours are hardly helpful when it comes to scheduling an appointment: Monday-Friday from 8:45AM to 4:00PM, which means his office is open less than eight hours a day. There have been some days when I have gone to his office and he's "out", his female assistants unable, or unwilling to tell me where he is. I told his primary assistant, who is an LPN, recently, that I would prefer talking to him about about my medical issues, and not her, as she has frequently attempted to "handle" my calls or visits without me being able to speak directly to my doctor. I told her that for the $ I spend I want a doctor's advice, not a nurse's. Am I being out of line here Kimi? I don't think I am, but his assistant thinks I'm being unreasonable. confused

I don't think you're being unreasonable at all, Lee. It's not a slap to the LPN, I'm sure she's capable, but as you said, when you pay the $ expected, it's nice to actually see the Dr. My Dr has always trained Physician's Assistants (PAs) and they are quite good and always kind and helpful, but I'm not always as comfortable with them, not because I doubt their abilities, but rather, it takes me a while to feel comfortable with a Dr, so when I am being examined and such, I simply feel more at ease with my Dr and I always ask for him when making an appointment.

Interesting 'escapes' for you, Lee. Mr Green Let's see if I can list any....

1960s

01) Kenner Slide-Show w/ Hanna-Barbera toon slides (I spent hours doing this!)
02) Introduction to classic sci-fi/horror films with cousins.

1970s

01) Beginning my school life
02) Learned the art of playground fun (kickball, softball, etc)
03) Played baseball, as softball wasn't an option in my area, yet.

1980s

01) High school
02) Hanging out with friends from school
03) Playing softball for high school team as well as local 'teener' league
04) Graduated high school and immediately began working, so money was nice!
05) Began collecting VHS like crazy

1990s

01) Got my first computer and never looked back.
02) DVD collecting began for me in Summer of '99.
03) Began collecting original film posters and lobby cards.
04) Work career because of health and life definitely changed.

2000-Present

01) Still adding to my DVD collection. Mr Green
02) Always adding new titles to my growing DVD wish list.
03) Occasionally will spend a day surfing the Internet for DVDs or memorabilia.
04) Relaxing with books or DVDs or my music.
05) Consuming massive amounts of diet Pepsi...this could also go back to the 90s, too! Mr Green
