As many of you at this site may not be aware, while in high school and in college I did a great deal of writing, for my respective campus newspapers. I also worked briefly(for about eight months) covering high school football games and doing human interest stories for a suburban newspaper, The Marietta Daily Journal, back in 1987. Writing was always something that came natural for me, unlike just about everything else. I have amassed, over the last fifteen years, a considerable amount of copy: lots of short stories, and several book-sized transcripts, all sci-fi and horror themed. I'll never be Stephen King, mind you, but I do hope to get some of my cumulative work published by somebody down the road. I also would like to write for income as I approach, and enter, retirement. The only thing in life I have enjoyed as much as writing has been my great fondness for Godzilla and other cinematic and television monsters, and collecting these movies. To that end I am going to cross the two for a little bit this year, and crank out a couple of kaiju stories. One will be ready by the summer of this year: The War Monsters. This story will be posted during the summer. My second story, Comes Leviathan, will follow a month or two later. I will put them up at Monsterland Forums when they are done, for the inspection and, hopefully, enjoyment of anyone who wants to read them. I will use this thread for any updates. Anyone with questions, comments, suggestions, or the like, regarding this post content, post it here. Though I have decided on titles for these works I have not made final decisions on the names of the monsters that will be in them. If anyone has any suggestions for kaiju names let me know.

Thanks. I am going to post these stories here at MF. I have also been offered, by Charmane, the primary admin at Planet X, space at the "Planet X" MySpace page to post them there. These stories, Kimi, will not be gory, and the language in them will not be especially vulgar, though there will obviously be some violence, stressful situations, and the occasional moderately colorful language. It will be something that people of all ages can read and, hopefully, enjoy. :)

I wanted my two short stories to include Godzilla but because of copyright issues I decided against it. There were some short stories posted in G-Fan magazine some time ago that included Godzilla, and Toho asked the magazine creator, J.D. Lees, to stop using the "Godzilla" character in the stories.

If, and only if, I get positive feedback from these stories, I will, in all likelihood, begin posting more of them, perhaps 1-2, a year, at this site. busy bee

An update on my short stories:

The War Monsters, my first "kaiju" short story, will wrap up by the middle of this week. Only Part Seven remains.

Comes Leviathan, my second "kaiju" short story, has just started, and will be a little bit longer than my first submission. It will finish by the end of October, 2007.

Beginning in November, 2007 I will post a science fiction medium length story called Frankendroid-I have posted a brief preview of this story.

In early December, 2007 I will begin posting one(1) short to medium length story per month. The schedule:

In December, 2007: Pteranogon: Death From Above

In January, 2008: Godzilla Vs The Scyllataur

In February, 2008: Mothra: Winged Fury

In March, 2008: Monster Planet

In April, 2008: Godzilla & Rodan Vs Ultragon

In May, 2008: King Ghidorah: World's End
