I see this film is part of the Shaw Brothers collection of films being released by Image. I've never seen this film and was wondering if it was worth a blind buy? The story certainly sounds interesting enough, but any input would certainly be appreciated. :)

August Ragone could no doubt give you the complete "low down" on this film. Here's my input: it's a wild caper, with lots of action and human-sized monsters. The combat sequences are frenetic, and there's lots of martial-arts style fighting. The aspect ratio is 2.35:1 and the print looked, IMO, very good. This movie, IMO, is a blend of 70's HK martial arts/action flicks and Ultraman, though there's only one "kaiju" sequence. I enjoy watching this movie-if not taken too seriously this film is a great means of escape from reality for about 90 minutes. thumbs up

Thanks very much for the input and links, Lee....seems both reviewers of the film quite enjoy it. :) Deep Discount is offering all the Shaw Brothers DVDs at $13.29, which is almost $6 cheaper than Amazon! A couple I want must have long off release dates, I could find only one listed at Amazon that offered a pre-order and that is, Deadly Breaking Sword with a release date of 07 Novemeber! shock There are about five available titles I would like to pick up from this series from Shaw Brothers/Image. Always more and more to add to that ever-growing wish list! freak out

I meant to get a thread started regarding INFRAMAN. Let me just say that I love this flick. It's nothing you can take seriously but the fight scenes are fast-paced, imaginative, and HIGHLY entertaining. Also, Rayma/Inframan is a cool hero with lots of awesome weapons such as the "thunderball fist". SUPER INFRAMAN is one of the few movies where I actually prefer the dubbed version. It adds to the insane cheese-factor, in my view.

One more positive view of this film....as some would say, 'I gots to get this!'. Mr Green

I was in Borders, yesterday and I had a list of Shaw Brothers/Image DVDs I wanted...Borders had a few, but most needed to be special ordered and all were priced at $19.99, whereas, I can get the same tittles at DDD for under $13.50. I may place an order, today for some of the titles....stay tuned. Mr Green

You know, that actually is part of my vocabulary, but somewhere between saying that and actually doing that, it gets lost in the translation. tongue-1

You know, I usually shop with Carol, so if I begin to show some restraint, she's horrible to have around, as she urges me on in purchasing the DVDs I want! <_<

Maybe the next time you shop with her you could wear ear plugs...so you wouldn't hear her "urgings". tongue-1

:<!--emo&lol:-->Posted Image<!--endemo--> I could try that. I think part of me likes to have her tell me it's OK and I REALLY should make the purchases, as next time, they may not be there and then I'd really hate myself. ;) That has happened a time or two and I am usually disgusted with myself.

But that feeling of disgust never really lasts very long, does it? tongue-1
