For some time now we've been hearing from George Lucas and Lucasfilm Ltd. that there is a live-action Star Wars television series in the works. The purpose of this thread is to serve as a bulletin board for SWTV info. If you hear any new info regarding this exciting project feel free to tack it up here. Let's keep the Force alive at Monsterland. I'll get it started: From: http://www.hollywood.com/news/detail/id/3484376 :
And some older info from Comingsoon.net
So there ya go. That's about all we know about the show for now but I'm sure by the end of the year we'll have more concrete info and possibly some photos. THANK GOD Star Wars is not over yet! |

Here's an interesting update on the upcoming live-action Star Wars TV series. Apparently it won't go in front of cameras until 2008. That seems like such a long way off. :( At least we'll get the all-CG Clone Wars series in 2007 to hold us over! :) Thanks go out to Comingsoon.net for providing the news. The news regarding Quinlon Vos is interesting. I don't really follow the Star Wars Expanded Universe of the comics but I know he is a popular character in those circles and I think he'll be a wildly popular character if he makes it into the mainstream SW continuity. Some of you may remember his name was mentioned in Revenge of the Sith. Obi-Wan mentions the name "Master Vos" at the end of a debriefing, just before Anakin learns that the Chancellor is a Sith. The shows are budgeted at 1 million dollars per episode. Is that expensive in termsn of television budget? For instance, how does that compare to the budgets for other sci-fi shows such as Battlestar Galactica or Stargate: SG-1? |

Here's another tidbit regarding the 2009 live-action series, thanks to TheForce.net:
Daniel Logan played the young Boba Fett in 2002's STAR WARS: ATTACK OF THE CLONES. It'd be great to see him reprise the role, especially now that he'll be playing an older, more embittered version of Fett in the series. Hopefully they'll also cast Temuera Morrison who played Jango Fett in EP II and various clone troopers in EPIII. As far as Mayhew goes, it'd be nice to see a familiar face such as Chewbacca once again. Who doesn't love Chewie? ;) |

"Star Wars is not dead" ~George Lucas Thanks to IESB.net for scoring this quick George Lucas interview. LINK When discussing Clone Wars animated he mentions the following: - A new female Jedi padawan name Osoka. Same alien race as Jedi Shaak Ti. - Young Boba Fett may appear - 100 episodes (1/2 hour each) - No STAR WARS eps 7-9 "The Skywalkers are done." - Lucas closed by telling the fans, "Star Wars is not dead. It's gonna get better and better. Especially in the next few years." |

thumbs up Okay. With that in mind, rank the Star Wars films in the order you like them, #1 being the the one you like the most. How I rank them in my own mind: 1. Star Wars-A New Hope(1977) 2. The Empire Strikes Back(1980) 3. Return Of The Jedi(1983) 4. Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge Of The Sith(2005) 5. Star Wars Episode 2: The Clone Wars(2002) 6. Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace(1999) I like all of them, just some a good bit more than others. I definitely like the older films more. I became more attached to the characters, by far, in the older titles, than I did in the newer ones. faster <!--emo&shifty eyes--> <!--endemo-->

I'd rank the films in the exact same order, Lee. :) My youngest brother, Skeet and I used to 'watch' these films together on Sunday nights. if I wasn't working. We'd call each other, start the VHS at the same time and watch/talk about the film, then halfway through the film, we'd hang up and the person who had made the initial call would receive the call back and we'd finish 'watching' the film, together. I have been a Star Wars fan since first watching the first film in this franchise back in 1977, when I was fifteen years old. I was blown away by it, as was just about everyone I knew in high school that had seen it. I can tell you there was great anticipation for the sequel, which hit theaters in 1980, and was arguably better than the original. Though the older films in this series are my favorites, and because I grew more attached to the characters in them, I also enjoyed the newer films, which are actually prequels leading up to the 1977 movie. My favorite character of the newer "Star Wars" films is unquestionably Obi-Wan Kenobi, well played by veteran actor Ewan McGregor. McGregor's acting ably personified the dashing, noble, honest, and unselfish character of this great Jedi knight, from his role as apprentice to full fledged Jedi, climaxing with his brutal, and tragic, battle with his former friend and protege Anakin Skywalker. I liked Hayden Christiansen's performance as well, though I often found myself wanting a little more out of Mr. Christiansen, from an acting perspective, in bringing out the gradually increasing moodiness, moral uncertainty, and hostility that all factored in to his fateful decision with Mace Windu and his fall into the dark side of "The Force". Just my opinion.
