Hi everyone, I can finally post one of my films! I completed this earlier this week, as part of a Monty Python competition for Channel 4. It's a tribute to Terry Gilliam's animations on Monty Python, so it's a rather surreal film, it's about 2 minutes long and it's called "PLANET HOPPING". http://www.channel4.com/4laughs/cv/CarrotPatrol p.s. lol Nice work Johnny. I especially liked the cow diving into the swimming pool. You've got talent. Great to see you putting it to good use. Thank you both for watching it, I'm sorry about KaijuFanatic having to wait so long. I remember using dial-up for all those years, there's some things it just doesn't like. :<!--emo&lol:--> <!--endemo--> You know packmule, the cow sprites was the first thing I did, on the very same day me and Frank wrote it. The scene itself must have taken me about 3 days to animate, it was the hardest scene in the film by far!!! Mr Green Frank's favourite scene is the one with the trampoline, I don't really know my favourite. :D I gotta say, I don't particularly enjoy animating, you know there's 12 frames a second, and there's 117 seconds, THAT'S 1404 FRAMES!!! cross eyed I much preffer writing scripts, but since my friend can't draw I'm left to animate it. I'll post more of my work in the near future, well, near-ish, could be any time between July and September I think. Talking of which, I'm going to enter another competition, this time it's for a British magazine called NEO. It's a MANGA competition and MANGA just happens to be what I'm best at.  The problem is I'm only allowed 5 pages! I've spent the past 3 days writing the story, designing characters, and re-writing the story; I also sorted out the outlines for all the 5 pages today and also started sketching the first page. I'm hoping to finish before July, the deadline itself is on July 31st but I'll be in Spain then so I'll have to hurry!!! I'm confident though. The top 5 MANGA artists will have their comics published on a special issue of the magazine, I think there's a prize you can win as well but I don't care about that, I just want my work published! tongue and cheek I've got a film due for release in June or so, I guess I could also post that, be warned though, the film is currently my least favourite (and I've made 5 so far!), I think I mentioned it to you back in October (before actually making it), it was the one with Dracula etc. It's supposed to be a comedy but it's just not funny! very angry I blame everyone else involved, if they only listened to the Director the film MIGHT have been really good. Ah well, that's life. lol |

That would be great! I know I would sure appreciate it. Good luck with that. Competition should enable you to hone your skills even more. thumbs up Be wary of any bulls running through any city streets.  That's okay. It's the work that counts, and submitting your work is, I think a good way for you to get some exposure, improve yourself in these endeavors, and of course we get to see some cool stuff. Mr Green |

Sorry about the late reply, I had to fix my computer. cross eyed Unfortunately, once my computer was fixed I discovered that my animation didn't even make it into 4th place!!! Now I don't usually mind losing, but just take a look at the winning animations, I just don't understand how they won: http://www.channel4.com/4laughs/enjoy/winner.jsp?competitionId=4760 In other stories my latest film is due to be finished in a week's time and I'm sure someone in the cast will probably upload it to Youtube before I get the chance, so maybe in 2-3 weeks I'll be able to post the link. Also, I'm just finishing off page 1 of my MANGA story, there seems to be a lot of competition this year so I'm not sure I'll win, nevertheless I might as well try. :<!--emo&lol:--> <!--endemo--> And packmule, I'll try not to run into any bulls this year. Mr Green Actually I think bull runs will actually take place during my stay in Spain, now I wouldn't go to one pf those myself but they sure are fun to watch.

That's okay. Fixing your computer? You seem to be a man of many talents. thumbs up IMO yours was better-it's unfortunate the judges didn't feel likewise. thumbs down I look forward to seeing it. It's worth the effort. Glad to hear that. I wouldn't want you hurting any bulls. I believe the "running of the bulls" takes place in Pamplona, Spain. As for watching this spectacle, hopefully you'll do it from a safe distance. |

Hehehe, no I wouldn't hurt any bulls. Mr Green I think the event DOES take place in Pamplona though I'm not entirely sure, and as of where I'll be watching it'll be in the confort of my gradparent's house. :D It's on quite early actually, ay about 08:00 AM I think. In other stories, my latest film was finished earlier today, I don't like it much but at least I'll get to see it on the big screen in less than a month. Shame, it's the only film in which I don't make an appearance. I wasn't allowed. :angry: It's my 5th film so far and it'll most likely be called "Bloody 'Ell" (I didn't come up with the name), the list goes like this: 1) What's That Shadow Behind Back? 2) Martial Arts And Movies 3) CARROTMAN Episode 1: A Carrot In Distress! 4) Planet Hopping 5) Bloody 'Ell 6) CARROTMAN Episode 2 (Work In Progress) At some point I might upload some of these, maybe once I get a website. <_< |

It's an annual event, that draws thousands of spectators. Most of those "running" with the bulls are locals, drunkards and other individuals looking for their proverbial "fifteen minutes of fame". Unfortunately for many, that brief bit of fame is often accompanied by the business end of a pair of half-ton bull's horns. Every year many participants are gored, often severely, and there is the occasional fatality. It boils down to putting a lot of inebriated people together with angry, restless bulls...not a very good mix. thumbs up Funny, the title sounds, to me, like something you would have thought up. Do you need your own website to post them? I ask because you could upload them at this site, if you wanted to do so. :) |

Thanks for the offer. No, I don't actually need my own website, I say that because I'm planning to make a page with all my films, in a future... not too far away and then maybe also put them on YouTube with a link to my page at the end, or something like that. Though it could be tricky since with me it's just one thing after another, I've just finished "Bloody 'Ell", I now need to finish a logo for my friend's rock band (they're recording an album at the end of the month), after that I've got to finish my MANGA, then I'll be going to Spain for 6 weeks, once I come back I'll then see if I can FINALLY finish CARROTMAN 2 (It's been in production since January), right after that I'll probably be starting University, 3 years of constant film-making, and after that I don't know. HOPEFULLY I'll have some time to make a webpage in between all that, but if I really don't have time then it's likely that I'll be uploading the videos to on another site, e.g. HERE. tongue and cheek |

That's a good question. If I'm not mistaken you first need a (video) hosting service-you upload your video to this hosting service(like Megaupload or Ripway?) and then post the (host's) URL. Sound right? If it doesn't I can always ask an Invisionfree tech support person via the "support ticket" function of this website's admin cp. :) |

That sound about 50% right. Mr Green I know Megaupload host files but only if you're willing to download them, now IT IS possible for me to make my films smaller in file size to make the download faster but I don't know if that's what you meant. :<!--emo&lol:--> <!--endemo--> Youtube is a video hosting service, I COULD upload them there and then post them here, but (if I remember correctly) Youtube videos slow down Monsterland quite a bit, I've got broadband so it doesn't matter to me but for users like Kaiju-Fanatic it could be rather tricky.

You can upload one to the site, then I'll check with Kimi("KaijuFanatic") and see how much it affects her page loads. I don't think one video by itself would have too much of an adverse effect. It would be, in all probability, impossible, for Kimi("KaijuFanatic") to watch any YouTube(or other hosting service) video-I know because she has told me as much. While I feel badly for her I do not want to allow this to deter you, or anyone else, from posting a video at this site. Just something to think about. :) |
