Frankendroid Preview: in the year 2129, a remote and decades old scientific research station, the Argus, located on the planet Mars, makes contact with an unidentified beacon located near one the planet's largest canyons. A retriever unit, the station's only fully functioning android, is dispatched to investigate the signal. The android never returns. With an ionic storm approaching from the southern hemisphere of the planet, the emergency landing of a military prisoner shuttle in the station's surface-level docking pad, and the intermittent malfunction of the research station's life support systems, things, seemingly, could hardly get worse for the facility and it's crew of fourteen military and civilians...but they're about to... Thirty-five year old Martin Draper is on his way home. Just released from a Martian penal colony after serving five years for a crime he didn't commit, the ex-Army Sentinel, once a member of Earth's elite multi-national corps of special warfare soldiers, is now the lone passenger in a transport shuttle bound for a U.N. docking port on the dark side of the red planet. An ion storm forces his shuttle, piloted by a bot, to make an emergency landing at an old and soon to be decommissioned science-research station. There the ex-Sentinel is about to discover that the technical difficulties the station's personnel are contending with are the least of their problems... |
