For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

OK, I was crazy-nuts about seeing this film when it first came out in......'93, was it? I have been absolutely in love with dinosaurs since I was old enough to know about them and I was pumped about seeing this film. I was working second shift at the time and was beginning 7 days of vacation when the filmed opened...believe it was August of that year? Anyway, grabbed Skeet and we went to the mall to see it and the first time we see the dinos.....while drinking at the water hole, I actually got shivers! :) Skeet and I watched it, then went out to the parking lot and I mentioned I could watch it, again. He said he'd be willing to, but we didn't that afternoon. I ended up taking Mom to see it, not once, but twice during that week off and Skeet and I saw it a little later, that Summer at the Drive-In, another friend and I went to the Drive-In to catch it and I took Michael and his wife to the theatre to see it that October.

When the sequel came out, I took a Friday off, so Skeet, his wife and I could go see it and that film didn't impress me as much as the first film had. When the third film came out, Carol and I went to a cinema to see it and then later to a Drive-In, I prefered the third film over the second, but still felt the franchise could have been done a wee bit better and not leaned as much towards a 'tween/family' film.

The first film will always be my favorite of the three films, but isn't there supposed to be a fourth film in the works? eh?

Bryce Dallas Edwards (Who played Aunt Claire) was also pretty hot

heyo

Isn't her name Bryce Dallas Howard? She's the daughter of former actor turned director Ron Howard.

She's a beauty. tongue-2

Just got back from seeing it, myself. Awesome freakin' movie. In terms of quality for the series, I'd say it's a very close second place compared to the original film, and definitely the best of the sequels. The CG work for the dinosaurs isn't the best, and I wish they would have used some animatronics when possible to really help sell these dinosaurs as having more of a physical presence.

Jurassic World has a stellar main cast of likable characters, the film is every bit as character-oriented as the original, and the movie really goes the extra distance to make its set pieces as thrilling as possible. The Indominus Rex carries a real menace to it, and it can quickly overcome any reservations one might have against watching a Jurassic Park movie where the star is a hybrid creation and therefore not a "true dinosaur." The way it goes down is a little over the top, but still a thrilling and satisfying end to such an awesomely villainous dinosaur.

Here's hoping that Jurassic World sparks a new run of Jurassic Park video games, including a new park builder sim where you can build the park and create the dinosaurs yourself... with options for various hybrid creations. sickko

We do have a park builder sim on Moblie devices though, there's actually two Jurassic Park Builder and Jurassic World.

But I agree hopefully we get a slew of dinosaur games.

Jurassic World has officially beaten The Avengers for box office return it's currently the third highest grossing movie in the US falling behind Titanic and Avatar.

There's a good chance that it'll surpass Titanic but I don't think it'll beat out Avatar.

Jurassic World II is scheduled for June 22nd 2018. Two weeks after Godzilla 2 is scheduled to debut.

2018 is shapping up to be a good year for movies. Just give me a Jaws movie and my three favorite franchises growing up will all have movies debuting in the same year.
