Suggested plans? From who specifically? My understanding was that Shogo Tomiyama of Toho made no mention of a *specific* year but instead likened the current hiatus of Godzilla to the one that happened between 1975's Terror Of Mechagodzilla and The Return Of Godzilla(1984), a film that returned the monster to the big screen after a nine year absence. Since GFW was released in December, 2004 people have picked up on this and are saying that Godzilla will return "around" 2013. G2K, understand that it's entirely possible Godzilla's return to film could be considerably farther off than 2013, if Toho deems that renewed interest in Godzilla, and in Japan, is not sufficient to justify the financial investment in making another Godzilla movie.

Your post which uses the word "suggested plans" does not = a generalized comment by Shogo Tomiyama in which he mentions no specific year for Godzilla's cinematic return.

If the 3D Godzilla film gets made I would expect it to see some kind of theatrical release. Obviously it would show in IMAX theaters. I believe Yoshimitsu Banno did a good job directing Godzilla Vs Hedorah(1971). Some will disagree with me on that and that's okay. I applaud the efforts of Mr. Banno to work to get this movie made but so far, from what I've read at other message boards, he has not secured the necessary funding. i luved godzilla vs hedorah too, but the imax thing. i would have to drive an hour and a half to get to one, and my dad would most likely say no. my last goji film i saw in theaters was goji 2000, and it would be about time they got another.

Hopefully it would play in regular theaters too. I wouldn't mind seeing a Godzilla 3D Imax movie. But I don't think it would be that great as an actual movie. I'd expect the script to be terrible and the story almost non-existent.
