batrus, there aren't really any members here right now that know much about Kamen Rider, but rather than delete this thread I'm going to rename it the "Miscellaneous Asian Superheroes Thread"-this topic thread will be for posting about any Asian(human sized or giant) superheroes that are NOT Ultraman. :)

I saw that Yuke! Godman and Ike! Greenman contained several well-known Toho monsters, anyone seen it and can tell me how they are treated there?

I haven't seen either of them, Kex. I'm going to post a handful of links for anyone else who may see this post and not know what we're talking about. :)

Kex, I looked into those old shows awhile back and didnt find much, just mainly that same little bit that packmule found. I was hoping to find a full episode on google video or youtube, or possibly somewhere to purchase some of these shows, but as of yet, no luck.

That opening music there is pretty amusing. I've only got the five first episodes, but I can tell that the Japanese theme can still be heard sometimes in the fights.

I'd prefer the Japanese original, but you can't have everything. Also, Megaloman's main finishing attack (Called, I believe, Megalo-Fireball) is pretty funny. He dances around as his hair catches fire, and sends the fire away in a fireball.

Here's a brief Space Giants clip in which Goldar does away with Birdaurus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9i4BXrh2s4

I notice in the opening theme sequence that Goldar is described as a 50 foot tall robot. He seems to look taller than that at times...and at others he looks exactly as the height he's described as. Oh well, guess you had to be there. tongue-1

A member of Gojira's Sanctuary forums apparently takes a, shall we say, lighthearted view of characters like Kamen Rider, as this image will attest:

Getting rained out at work today I had some extra time on my hands, which I spent watching more episodes of Iron King(1972-1973). I have now watched seventeen(17) episodes of this 26 episode live action series. Anyone around here who considers themselves a fan of Ultraman and other superhero giants should consider picking up Iron King on DVD(R1). There is a lot of action and cool miniature effects in this series, which chronicles the exploits of two special Japanese defense force agents, Gentaro Shizuka and Goro Kirishima, the latter who can morph into the giant cyborg called "Iron King", as they deal with threats to the world like the Phantom Militia and the masked Titanians. This series has a lot to offer: frenetic hand to hand combat scenes, great pyrotechnic effects, some campy humor and, in some episodes, some flat out gorgeous female characters(tongue-1). There's also Iron King himself, who fights various monster robots employed by the villains.

Here's a link with a blurb about the series itself: http://www.japanhero.com/profiles/iron_king_profileL.htm

Here's Iron King for sale as a R1 DVD set at Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Iron-King-Complete-S...i/dp/B000WC38OQ

Saw these news on Tohokingdom, decided to forward them here. Really exciting news to see the revival of these obscure Tokusatsu heroes.. if only I was able to purchase the new DVD. ;_;

Thanks for posting this info Kex. I might get these R2 DVDs. The screen shots look very cool. The only question will be if I can afford to buy them. ;)
