So it looks like Oklahoma nad Florida for the BCS bowl after Okla's ass whooping of Missou and Florida's upset of number 1 Alabama. I'm not sure who to root for now, I guess I should be going for the Big 12 team but honestly I really don't care for either one of these clubs. |

How about Georgia Tech, who plays LSU in the Chick Filet Bowl(formerly the Peach Bowl) here in Atlanta, GA at the Georgia Dome? ![]() Kudos to Georgia Tech's new heach coach, Paul Johnson, who was voted ACC Coach Of The Year for 2008, helping the Yellowjackets to a 9-3 season and a significant bowl berth in his first season. Considering Johnson's success at Georgia Southern(multiple Southern Conference titles, three I-AA national title game appearances and two outright titles in I-AA), and at Navy(three consecutive bowl appearances), I believe GA Tech is going to be an ACC title contender in coming years. ![]() |

I'll root for GA Tech as well as Texas in whatever bowl they end up in. I'll also root for whatever team opposes USC, which will most likely take place in Pasadena at the Rose bowl because the Rose organizers are a bunch of punks and always put their local home team in that bowl to give them an advantage. |

I haven't watched enough of Florida to really analyze their worth, but I can say that Oklahoma is a little shaky and probably not as rock-solid as a BCS contender would hope to be. |

Well my prediction for Florida winning the BCS held true, though it wasn't a blowout like I was thinking it might be. It fact if OU hadn't of suffered that one fumble, it might have been a totally different outcome. |

I was glad to see Florida beat Oklahoma and give the SEC another National Champion. Tim Tebow is just a flat out beast at QB. He'll be smart to come back for his senior season as that team will be virtually intact for the 2009 season and would improve his draft status in 2010. |

Tim Tebow is an absolutely marvelous college football player, Russ. I have listened to ESPN's cadre of football "experts", including Mel Kiper, Jr. who have opined that Tebow's collegiate success on the field may not translate to success as an NFL quarterback. Many of their arguments about Tebow are based on this QB's mechanics, both regarding his feet, time of release and throwing motion. Tebow should absolutely work on his mechanics, no doubt about that. ![]() Tebow, Oklahoma's Sam Bradford and Texas QB Colt McCoy are all returning for their senior seasons, so the Heisman "watch" should prove very interesting in 2009. |

Well, the first BCS standings of the season have been released, and to no ones surprise, Florida and Alabama are leading the BCS standings at #1 and #2 respectively. These two teams are headed for a showdown in the SEC Championship. The thing is, if these two teams stay undefeated heading into that game, (which they should) the winner of that game will be in the BCS Championship, while either #3 Texas, #4 Boise State, could somehow slide into that game also. (i'd personally love to see either Texas or even Boise State get in there somehow... especially Boise State, just to show the pollsters that they may belong in there) |

Boise State certainly looks like it will be there at the end of the year to contend for a BCS game.

Well, Alabama almost coughed up their shot at the National Title by almost losing to Tennessee. (in a good defensive game) They and Florida are still #1 and #2 in the BCS Standings. |
