Man, a lot of the text in this link is going way over my head!  shocked smiley

I see what you mean Packmule.
A lot of the text in there is hard for me to read as well.
But essentially, the Atral Plane is the world of dreams, my favourite place in the Universe. thumbs up
'The void is that which stands right in the middle between this and that. The void is all-inclusive, having no opposite — there is nothing which it excludes or opposes. It is living void, because all forms come out of it and whoever realizes the void is filled with life and power and the love of all things' - Bruce Lee

It's gotta be better than my reality, I would think. Most of my dreams are either bizarre or rather scary. The lone exception: a dream I had where I was stranded on a remote island with actress Evangeline Lilly from the "Lost" television series. That was definitely a good dream. tongue-1

Image: the beautiful Evangeline Lilly. If she's in the Astral Plane, Johnny, then you can be sure this is definitely a place I could relocate to. tongue-1

Well, I don't know Packmule, a lot of my dreams are bizarre and scary, I love them though. But I do have some nice dreams sometimes. I believe that dreams might actually be real, another reality maybe, I don't know. But I reckon that the Astral Plane could be the answer to a lot of life's questions, if only I could remember more about my dreams... :(
Ah well, maybe one day they'll invent a machine that records your dreams.

I don't feel that way about dreams. I believe, as has been theorized by scientists, that dreams are nothing more than a random scattering of images(and people), both good and bad, that surface sometimes when the conscious mind has shut down(during sleep). I'm sure there would be a lot of folks who would disagree with me here but I tend to lean toward this "scientific" explanation as to what dreams are.

Well, that's fair enough.
To be honest, I don't really know what dreams could be, all I know is that whenever I'm having a dream I still retain all my memory from the real world, however, when dreaming I can't look at the time or read; well, recently I did read something, don't remember what it was though! Mr Green
Maybe dreams are as you (and scientists) say, just the odd scattering of images, but then again, scientists always look for the most simple explanation. It's as I said earlier, according to classic aerodynamics bumble bees are unable to fly, but they do.

I'm afraid we'll never know what dreams mean, or where they come from, or any of those things. It's annoying.

And while I agree with you Johnny that it's annoying I also think that dreams are one of many mysteries that make life and living interesting. I think if I knew the meaning of everything that happened to me in life, including my dreams, I would get rather bored with all of it. XmaswinkyX

I prefer dreams compared to the real world. They have much more interesting events and things.

Back on topic, I sometimes imagine the After as a complete void, where you are left to recall the memories of your life. Pretty pointless, but it's a way to see it too. To me, it's either that or absolutely nothing.

With me it seems like with every year's passing I'm leaning a little more towards believing the afterlife to be "absolutely nothing".

Agreed.

...you know Kex this might be the first time we've agreed on anything.

*makes note to check archival posts of MF*

Assume, for a moment Kex, that you did believe in an afterlife. If one existed how would you prefer this place? As a spiritual world where you float around like some kind of vapor, or something more physical in nature?

Also, if you passed away and discovered there was a God, an all powerful entity who gives you the choice of a permanent place in his "domain" or the opportunity to live your life over again, as whomever you choose, which option would you take? heyo

To question 1: I picture a place where I eat ice-cream to the sound of trumpet music and where I'm followed by a thousand eightteen year old girls dying to refill previously mentioned ice cream.

To question 2: I'd choose to come to life again as Godzilla!

And, I presume, attend to any of your other wants and needs. tongue-1

With my luck I would return as Minya, with no choice but to run around making awkward laughing noises and blowing smoke-rings. Maybe I better work harder on retaining as much good karma as possible so this won't actually happen. <_<

very funny

If it's any consolation Josh, I'd probably come back as Ichiro. At least you'd have some company. tongue-1
