What you're basically saying here is that we should never ever invent words

No. What I'm saying is that I prefer to use recognized words when communicating with others, be it on the internet, in writing or verbally. Using something just made up in one's head might leave one even more open to misunderstanding and/or misinterpretation.

Therefore, I should be allowed to say anything I want, whether it's in the dictionary or not, as long as someone can understand it
I'm not challenging your freedom of expression, just suggesting that if you engage in a pattern of using random references not officially classified, or recognized as words, you might be leaving yourself open, more open that is, to misunderstanding and, unfortunately ridicule. Not from me or anyone else around here obviously, but perhaps elsewhere...where people in general aren't so cordial and respectful.

While I obviously believe you will be(as will I) that thought sure sounds pretty negative. Is this a bigger part of your opinion of the world, Matthew? heyo

It's an understandable point of view, Mr. Packmule. The end of the world would be a horribly depressing sight.

This is coming from a guy rather familiar with depressing sights.

I agree, Mr. KexMex. I don't think I would want to be around for the end of the world either. Question: are we talking about the end of humanity or the actual end of the planet itself? heyo

We're talking about the end of the WORLD, and humanity most certainly isn't the world.

Thank you for your continued declarations of the obvious, without which I would be nothing more than a directionless and ignorant dullard. tongue-1

I'd appreciate the sarcasm, but it's getting old.

Respectfully, I think I can safely say I feel likewise about some of the content in your posts as well. Just so we both understand each other. Not to trying to be rude here or discourteous. I think we can both be honest about things such as this, at this point. Obviously I would never intentionally try to antagonize or in any other way annoy a member of a message board, especially my own. You'll get no more sarcasm from me, regarding anything. winky

Feel free to be sarcastic. I just grow tired of hearing new variations of "Thank you, Captain Obvious".

Not me. I'm positive it won't happen in a long, long time.

Unless we come up with a brilliant new idea to destroy the world before then.

What exactly do you base your sentiment here on, if I may ask? heyo

I recently watched one of those Discovery channel "What If" shows again, this time they focused on the fact that over the last few years, the average temperature has gone up over a full percent. While 1 percent doesn't seem like much, scientists began to explain the adverse affects the hot climate could have on Earth should the average temperature rise just six degrees. The scientists who explained their findings on the show are convinced that if and when that happens, the climate will have turned the Earth into an almost unlivable barren wasteland. It was a rather interesting story.
