Paramount has just recently released official pics of Snake Eyes from the upcoming live-action GI Joe movie:

Ray Park, who played Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I, is Snake Eyes. The costume looks EXACTLY like it does in the comics. I was frankly blown away when I first saw these stills.

I don't know how familiar you are with GI JOE: A REAL AMERICAN HERO, Lee, but for me (a child of the 80's) seeing the Joe characters in live-action will be an exciting experience. Can't wait for the pics of Cobra Commander and Destro to be unveiled.

I had some GI Joe figures as a kid but, honestly, I was way more into Hot Wheels/Johnny Lightning cars, Etch A Sketch, Saturday AM Hanna Barbera cartoons and Ultraman on television(WTCG-now called TBS by the way).

Of course, seeing a live person portraying the female in the black and gray body suit on the left side of the above image should be a fairly exciting experience for me. tongue-1

That's a really cool suit. It looks like a lot of effort went into it.

On the subject of GI Joe, theres a white-garbed ninja warrior in the upper right corner of that pic, I remember having the toy of him from the 80's cartoon series. Do you remember his name, Ro-Dan?

That's the Baroness. She'll be played by Sienna Miller.

I sure do. That's Storm Shadow. He'll be in the movie as well. I'm sure we'll be seeing at least one kick-ass fight between him and Snake-Eyes.

^Yeah, I'm sure he'll be annoying as Hell too. Did anybody else hear the rumors that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Brendan Fraser will be making cameo appearances in the film as Shipwreck and Gung Ho, respectively?

Lots of new Joe movie pics! These photos are rare because Paramount pictures had most websites remove them shortly after they were posted. I had a hard time finding them myself but I was on a mission. So, without further ado...

Sienna Miller as The Baroness:
I love the bodysuit and she's gorgeous but where are her glasses?

Posted Image

-----

Channing Tatum as Duke:
One of my favorite Joe characters but this version just isn't convincing me.

Posted Image

-----

Marlon Wayans as Ripcord:
The single most frightening thing about this movie is the casting of this guy.

Posted Image

-----

Storm Shadow and The Baroness:
Where's SS's mask?

Posted Image

-----

Another Snake-Eyes pic:
Notice the mouth and weird "snake" eyes.

Posted Image

-----

Covergirl:

Posted Image

-----

Dennis Quaid as General Hawk:
Great casting choice!

Posted Image

-----

Rachel Nichols as Scarlett:
I have a mad crush on this girl!

As one who grew up during that time of GI Joe, all I can say is I hope this movie is done well. Especially with the success of the other popular 80's cartoon, Transformers. I do wish and hope though that whoever voices Cobra Commander and Destro can somehow capture even a little bit of those awesomely voiced characters. They were the best voiced characters of that series. I also wish they would include Zartan in the movie. And not that it really matters or anything, but wasn't Ripcord a white guy?

Zartan is in the movie. He's played by Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy, The Mummy Returns).

Cool. He was one of my favorite characters early on in the series. But, Arnold Vosloo as Zartan? I'm not sure he could pull that off.
