I have a question for anyone around here knowledgeable about "burning" DVD-Rs: I downloaded the American version of the movie The Green Slime into my computer this AM as an MP4 file. Can this be copied to a blank DVD-R? Would this DVD-R play in a DVD player in this file format?
I'd like to help but I've never been into the whole burning DVD's thing. I could research it some if you want though.

If you're planning on downloading the Windows 7 OS into your computer you may want to click the link for this potentially serious "bug": http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/146995;_ylt=AvmL1SN28dBUfQIVI_bVvOYxLpA5
exactly why I wait 6 months to a year before switching to a new OS, gives them time work the bugs out...well most of the bugs...ok some of the bugs big grin

Not a bad deal at all especially for the price. HPs aren't bad at all, I was going to get one myself but then went with an ASUS gaming laptop.

A 75 year old Microsoft researcher has been "downloading" his brain, in a manner of speaking, into a computer and converting the data into an "e-memory". Read more: http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/09/25/total.recall.microsoft.bell/index.html?eref=ib_topstories

Microsoft always has "critical" security updates...guess I have to do a manual update since Vista hasn't done anything yet.

Any one plan on picking up Windows 7? I'm getting it for free for my laptop and then my brother in law is getting it for free because our school offers a program if you're in a computer degree where we get software for free or at a major discount.

Sadly I don't qualify right now as I don't have any PC courses but hopefully I can get into it some day. I'd love to get the latest version of office and a free copy of Windows 7 for my desktop.

If you're a fan of the Mozilla "Firefox" web browser, as I am, you'll want to click the link to see some features that will be available in future Firefox browsers, like 3.6, 3.7 and even 4.0: http://news.cnet.com/8301-30685_3-10378604-264.html?tag=mncol;posts

The "beta" version of Firefox 3.6 will be released either next week or the week after.

Just upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 (for free mind you) and I must say I'm pretty impressed with the new OS. Seems a lot smoother than Vista, also runs a lot better than Vista too.

MS did an excellent job with Windows 7, it's the best of Windows XP and Vista into one nice OS. Sadly I haven't gotten to mess around with games on it since well I don't have any games on my laptop. Maybe I'll install my copy of Crysis once I get it back from my buddy and see how it runs on the laptop. In theory it should run better since well my laptop does have a better GPU in it than my desktop but then again my laptop does have a higher screen resolution than my desktop.

All in all if you're interested in Windows 7 then defeintly pick it up since you won't regret it.
