In 1966 Tsuburaya Prod. released Ultraman. The story: an interstellar law enforcement agent, while in pursuit of escaped monster Bemlar in the Earth's atmosphere, accidentally collides with a vessel piloted by Hayata, a member of The Science Patrol, killing the human. To make amends Ultraman merges his lifeforce with Hayata, and together, along with the rest of the Science Patrol members, Captain Muramatsu, Arashi, Ide(Ito), and Fuji, they fight menacing aliens and kaiju that threaten the world! --Post your thoughts and opinions of the original series here. I loved the original series!!!! This dates me, but I recall watching the series as it most likely had it's debut in its first make into americanized versions. I was very young.................. As strange as it sounds, I rather drifted away, and haven't seen any of the movies!!!!!! Imagine that. Now that I've gotten back into the 'mood', I'll have to rewatch the series episodes, as well as watch the movies. I will certainly relish this!!!!! :D

I first watched episodes of Ultraman(1966) in 1971. I was 9 years old. It was showing on Saturday mornings on WTCG, which later became TBS(Turner Broadcasting System). The original series(still among the best I think) has spawned countless other series, which continue even today, and that does not include the movies, which, like the newer TV series, employ vastly improved special effects. :)

These are 2 very good sites, but their not what I was looking for. I'm looking for a site with Ultraman monster stats, if anyone knows of a good site with this required information, I'd be very happy.

No rescue here. Just helping out a young friend. As I mentioned I will be looking for a few more in the next 1-2 days. Finding what you want is proving difficult, in large part due to the "hacking" and absolute ruination of the Ultraman Lah site by Turkish extremists, who apparently have been attacking forums at random. angry orange

At the time of the original site's demise, the victim of a malicious attack by Turkish hackers, the Ultraman lah site and forum was, IMO, the best Ultraman site on the internet, period. A new forum has been created, and appears to be growing quickly. For any fan of Ultraman I recommend you "bookmark" this site on your browser. The forum membership is comprised of mostly hardcore, knowledgeable fans of Ultraman and all of the television series and films. If you are a new fan of Ultraman and want to post on the forum you might want to familiarize yourself more with the subject matter, and can do so by using the two links provided in "Good Ultraman links". If anyone has any questions about this site or about the other feel free to drop me a line by PM or use this thread. :)

I've never seen the series or film! I hear a lot of folks discussing the series with fondness, but I haven't got a clue as to how enjoyable or good this series might be. ermme orange Is the original series available on DVD or is it coming to DVD? If it's available, perhaps a rental is in my future.

Bear in mind Corey that much(if not the majority) of the material on these Ultraman series is submitted by the usermembers. As the membership at the new lah forum grows, so will the site's "Ultraman" material, including that of the early Ultraman TV series, e.g. Ultraman(1966-1967), Ultraseven(1967-1968), and The Return Of Ultraman(1971-1972). :)
