I just find this info perplexing...wow they are actually connecting ALL the universes together, as if they weren't in different continuities... confused eh?

So Rena Yanase is Hayata and Fuji's daughter? eh? eh? eh?

Seems Tsuburaya is throwing the "seperate universes" concept out the trash.

I thought Minami was from the moon... eh?

And how did Gaia, Tiga, and Dyna meet?

I'm not sure how to rate the various "Ultra" opening theme songs by "best". I can rate them by how I like them. My favorites, and in order:

1. Ultraman
2. Ultraman Tiga
3. Ultraman Cosmos
4. The Return Of Ultraman
5. Ultraman Max
6. Ultraman Zearth(the two movies)
7. Ultraseven

Well, thanks to UltramanSmythe, I was able to sit down this afternoon and watch a DVD-R of 1984's The Ultraman Story, a movie in which we see a young Taro being trained by Ultra Father to be a superior fighter. An entertaining film, despite a lot of stock footage, mostly battle scenes from other "Ultra" series. I used to have this film on VHS but misplaced the tape so it was cool to watch this movie again.

Here's a link about the film: http://www.ultracolony.com/movie-story.php

One of my favorite "Ultra" themes, from the film Ultraman Zearth(1996) and it's 1997 sequel:

Tsuburaya Productions has created a new filming system called "Visual Translation System" that they hope will make their various "Ultra" TV series more marketable to overseas markets. To read more about this click the link to see the article, posted at Sci-Fi Japan: http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2008/11/04/tsuburaya-pro-unveils-new-visual-translation-system/

Sci-Fi Japan has produced a great tribute to the late Koichi Takano, who was a producer and managing director for Tsuburaya Productions Company(TPC). The tribute includes some behind the scenes photos, and comments on his passing from friends and colleagues: http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2008/12/27/koichi-takano-1935-2008/

That "visual translation system" is, in my opinion, not a very good idea. Instead of seeing the original version of the show/film we'll more than likely be seeing sub-par western actors.

BCI Eclipse, the Asian DVD label for Navarre Corporation, has shut down. Recall that the recent "Ultraman(1966-1967)" TV series was released to Region 1 DVD by BCI Eclipse, among other interesting titles. The link: http://www.nipponcinema.com/news/bci_eclipse_unceremoniously_shut_down/
