So Rena Yanase is Hayata and Fuji's daughter?

What the hell? heyo

Hayata and Fuji had a daughter together? shocked smiley

Seems Tsuburaya is throwing the "seperate universes" concept out the trash.

I thought Minami was from the moon... eh?

And how did Gaia, Tiga, and Dyna meet?
Potential *SPOILERS* ahead...

THE SUPER 8 ULTRA BROTHERS takes place in a parallel universe. As such, it's not ignoring the facts established in the TV series, they simply don't apply here.

In this universe, Daigo, Asuka and Gamu are born and grow up as normal children, watching Ultraman on TV. When they're children, they make a promise to the red shoed girl that they will become Ultramen when they grow up and save the Earth. They grow up, get normal jobs, and forget about all of that, until the time comes to make good on their promise!

Hayata, Dan, Goh and Hokuto are just ordinary men who live and work in Yokohama.

Mirai Hibino (Mebius) is the only character in the entire movie who's the same person as in their TV series. He gets pulled through from his own dimension.

If I were to infer anything about the "universes" from this movie, it would be that all the TV series - ULTRAMAN, ULTRA SEVEN, RETURN OF ULTRAMAN, ULTRAMAN ACE, ULTRAMAN TIGA, ULTRAMAN DYNA, ULTRAMAN GAIA, ULTRAMAN MEBIUS - happened just as they did, and elements of these universes have been bleeding through into the one we see in the movie.

There are a couple of cool scenes in the movie where Daigo slips through into Mirai's world at random intervals near the start of the movie. Almost like the walls of the universe are breaking down.

Little over 2 weeks left before the Blu-ray/DVD release!

Here's a nice clip of Ultraman Max in action, jacking up monsters and showing off his energy weapons:

I've been watching some Ultraman Max episodes on Veoh and "The Daughter Of Zeton" episode is my favorite so far.

Here's a link to see these episodes: http://www.veoh.com/search.html?type=v&searchId=924593914302878373&search=Ultraman+Max

No, it is not the same. BCI released the series in two parts, the new company released it in one volume for just double the price I got my part 2 dvd set...

Are the episodes the same? Are the audio options the same? Yes.

What's the big deal whether it's one volume or two volumes?

If you already own Ultraman Series One, Volumes 1&2, (as I do) then you already own this release. The only thing that is different is the box and the box art

Jim Ballard or August Ragone could clarify if there are any differences between the set for sale at Amazon and the previous BCI R1 release.

Here's one reason why Zeton is one of my favorite kaiju from the "Ultra" films: he defeated Ultraman in episode 39 of the original series, using Ultraman's own spacium beam against him and damaging Ultraman's color timer. Here's how it all played out: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2u1mf_ultraman-the-end_fun

I've watched this fight many times: Zeton was, at least to me, the clear aggressor in the battle. I'm still not convinced that Ultraman could have won, unless he possessed a weapon capable of getting though the Zeton "shutter". winky

Actually, it's an "Ultra's" way of telling the monster he's fighting he needs a bathroom break. tongue-1 (j/k)

I'm not sure I'd call it a "battle cry". Actually, I'm not sure what words I would use to describe it. confuzed
