Well, the season has begun. Has anyone had a chance to check out their season home openers? I missed the Tigers opener--as usual--because I was at work. I was frequently checking the score on my Blackberry throughout the game. Unfortunately my boys lost 5-4 against the KC Royals. S'okay, I'm off today and watching game 2 right now on my HD-TV and it looks BEAUTIFUL! We're finally getting some nice weather here in Detroit (sunny, 50 degrees). Perfect day for some baseball. B)

Ken Rosenthal recently went out on a limb and said he likes my hometown Atlanta Braves to win it all this season. My reaction to his comment: bleh. The Braves have some power in their lineup, to be sure, but also have two aging starting pitchers(Tom Glavine and John Smoltz), and one pitcher who has been on the disabled list for what seems like forever(Mike Hampton). If the Braves starting pitchers can, as a whole, get quality innings out of everyone in the rotation then I could see the Atlanta Braves making the post season as a wild card, even possibly winning the NL East, in which the Philadelphia Phillies and NY Mets are widely considered the other teams that might win the NL East. I cannot comment too much on the American League-I understand Boston should be good again, the NY Yankees will be lurking, as always, and that the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels(Anaheim) should be good offensively and might be, if their pitching holds up, the best of the AL. |

I think I am the Only Jays fan here. How Wonderful! Well right now they are up 5-0 in the bottom of the 7th. And Burnett is pitching amazing! Hopefully he doesn't get hit with an injury this year. edit: Its now 5-2... |

It seems like the Toronto Blue jays, in recent years, have been on the verge of breaking through and making a good playoff run. The problem, for the Jays that is: they share their division with the Boston Red Sox and NY Yankees, who have always, of late, made the playoffs as the division winner and wild card playoff seed. |

I know eh ? Its very annoying to watch. this year will hopefully be different. They just need to stay away from the Disable List, and hopefully see the Yankees go on a slump. |

It's always good to see another person around here with as much disdain for the Yankees, and their owner George Swinebrenner, er Steinbrenner, as myself. |

Well, you know me. I always look forward to baseball season until NFL training camps open. And if it's baseball season, it's Red Sox season. It's very, very early, but I kinda like what I see from my Sawx so far. (minus a couple of injuries) I'm hoping for another 1st place finish ahead of those NY Stankees. |

It's almost hard to believe, but I think I hate the Stankees even more with George's son Hank running the team now. I didn't appreciate his comments about Red Sox Nation earlier in the year. |

It's very, very early and I don't like what I see from the Atlanta Braves: a 1-3 start. Ken Rosenthal, doing his imitation of Nostradamus earlier in the week by picking the Braves to win it all, is starting to look more like Bozo The Clown now. <_< |

I don't really put too much stock in the win-loss record this early in the season. It'll take some time for all these teams to hit their strides. The cream will rise to the top eventually. |

Good thing too, Dan as Detroit has dropped to the 6th spot in the latest MLB power rankings: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/powerRankings...HPHCP>1=39002 |

They haven't won a game yet. I know this is attributed to all their injuries (Zumaya, Sheffield, Granderson, etc). Their bullpen is pretty weak too. A real shame, because if the team were 100% healthy they'd be a powerhouse. |

While there's probably no panic in the Detroit Tigers locker room I'm sure there's some mounting concern to get that first win, Dan. I'm sure Tigers manager Jim Leyland's mood has not been very good this first week of the MLB regular season. |

And now they have to go to Boston where I'm sure they'll get murdered by Russzilla's "Sawx". They'll be receiving their rings in Beantown today so you know the fans and the Red Sox players will be psyched. |
