Anyone MLB fans around here care to comment on the steroids hearing and controversy between Roger Clemens, who has denied taking steroids, and former Clemens trainer Brian McNamee, who says Clemens did? Seems to me Roger Clemen's chances of making the baseball Hall Of Fame seem diminished now. confused |

Watched the ring ceremony and the game today Dan. It was nice day for my Sox as they win their home opener 5-0 over Dan's Tigers. 0-7 Dan. Uh oh? |

In short, he basically said that Red Sox Nation is a bunch of s*** and it's just a creation of ESPN who are nothing but Red Sox fans anyways. Here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?i...e=ESPNHeadlines |

Like Barry Bonds and Michael Vick, I got so sick and tired of hearing about Clemens. All i'm going to say is this. GUILTY! |

Yeah, it's really disappointing. The season just began and it already looks bleak for the Tigers. |

Yeah, well ESPN didn't win the World Series for them. That was all the Red Sox. People need to learn to give proper credit to where it's due. |

The thing about that is the baseball season is not a sprint, it's a marathon. We still have a long way to go. There's still time for your Tigers to get things straightened out. |

I agree with you Russ but the Detroit Tigers are currently 2-9 in the W-L column and are getting hammered today 11-0 by the ChiSox. Boy, I bet Tigers manager Jim Leyland will be in a rotten mood assuming Detroit loses this game. |

2-10 now. And Dontrelle's on the 15 day DL. Ouch. Here's something else to add to the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3344825 |

![]() Maybe if I had buried an Atlanta Braves jersey under the Yankee Stadium bullpen turf prior to the 1996 World Series then maybe the Yankees would have been "cursed" as well.

Indeed. Braves pitcher Tom Glavine had to leave the game vs the Washington Nationals because of a hamstring pull. Glavine's 42 years old. John Smoltz is over 40 as well. I can't help but think that the Braves ownership, and GM Frank Wren, are trying to get too much mileage out of these older pitchers. Rumors also abound that this will be manager Bobby Cox's final season. Cox, IMO, has done a great job in the dugout and deserves a long break from the game. Some years ago when rumors started that Cox would retire Don Baylor's name was tossed around as a likely replacement. Now, I'm not sure who would be considered the next Braves manager but I suspect former Brave Terry Pendleton might get some consideration for the job when Bobby steps aside. |

Wow. Terry Pendleton. I haven't heard that name in years. He was a big part of those Braves team in the very early 90's. What's he doing these days? Even though the Indians pounded them last night, Dans Tigers are starting to wake up just a lil bit. And my Sawx take game 2 from the Stankees 7-5. (season series Sox 3 - Stanks 2) |

Terry Pendleton is the hitting coach of the Atlanta Braves, this being his seventh season in that capacity for the Braves: http://mlb.mlb.com/team/coach_staff_bio.js...id=510102122849 I have heard his name mentioned as a possible replacement when current Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox retires. We'll see. |

Glad to see my Sox finally start to come around. I thought it might take a little while for them to get over that long trip to Japan and then straight to the West Coast. David Ortiz is starting to heat up. (I guess it was HE that was cursed when they unearthed his Red Sox jersey at New Yankee Stadium... as soon as it was discovered, his bat woke up :) ) They had won six straight until last nights loss. Your Tigers are starting to wake up also Dan. Your Braves are kinda hard to figure out Pack. They have the talent to win, but I don't know if they can live up to the expectations that many have bestowed on them. (although i'd still rather see the Phillies win that division again) Sidenote: Sad to see the Bruins lose in 7 games to their arch rival Canadiens in the NHL playoffs. Get my revenge for me Flyers! |
