After recently watching Saw 3 and 4 again, I began to really think about the loose ends in this series and started piecing together some ideas and theories about why events in this movie played out the way they did, I've also generated some theories about the content of the next Saw film based upon some of the still open paths that Saw 4 left us with.

If anyone wants to discuss their own thoughts or predictions for the plot, feel free to do so here, personally I'd love to discuss a few of the small details I noticed while watching that I believe are clues to the future of the story.

I have all four "Saw" films on DVD. Despite their often gratuitous and stomach churning gore I have found all of them very entertaining. As gory and violent as these films are, I've also found them very interesting, many of the characters fascinating to watch, perhaps none more so than Jigsaw himself, ably portrayed by Tobin Bell.

I've seen some gory films in my time, no doubt about it, but some of the ways people have died in Jigsaw's traps, especially from Saw 3, are truly sickening and disturbing. freak out

I haven't seen SAW 4 yet...is that out on Blu-Ray? In fact is there a Blu-Ray boxset? I've seen 1 to 3 though...I've nearly thrown up after watching each one (talk about fighting to keep things down). As pack stated, gory and disgusting but the plot is so great. I don't know how part 4 turn out but usually a series starts to hit a down spiral after the 3rd movie...

There's no blu-ray boxset Trent but Saw 4 is available on blu-ray as well as the other 3 films. In my opinion I don't think Saw 4 took a downward turn...sure it's as far-fetched if not more out there than the other films but it keeps to the story and formula that made the other films good. Most of the events that occur in Saw 4 are happening at the same time as what is going on in Saw 3, so keep that in mind and be sure to be fresh up on what was going on in 3 when you watch 4. I don't think you will be dissapointed.

I may start to talk about some of the plotlines in this thread, but for you and anyone else who hasn't seen all the films yet, I'll give a spoiler warning.

No Blu-Ray Boxset? That sucks but then in that case I'll end up buying the individual dvds then. But that's good to hear about Saw 4, I'll be sure to watch the entire series again before watching Saw 4. But don't hold back on my account, it'll be a while before I get up to speed on my DVD watching. I don't move into my new place for another week and it'll be a while before I get set up there with everything.

I actually bought Saw IV on Blu-Ray. My other DVDs of the first three "Saw" films are the standard def discs.

I did not like Saw IV as much as the first three films in this series. Was it bad? I wouldn't call it that, but I thought the plot was starting to become something of a "reach", no doubt about it.

I found this teaser about Saw V, due for theatrical release on 10/24/08, though I'm not sure it's legitimate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyOE1B_opcc&feature=related

Saw is getting pretty milked with a new sequel each year...before long it'll suffer the fate of the Hellraiser series which keeps pumping out sequels even though people stopped caring years ago

Assuming, Slain, you've seen the "Saw" and "Hellraiser" films when did you "stop caring"? (that is, assuming you have of course tongue-1). For me, I pretty much had my fill of both series after their respective third installments.

Well Saw was never one of my favs but like Hellraiser it's all a fast downhill side for both....number 2 for both were nothing special and you are right....hit number 3 both got pretty weak....Though I'll say the First Hellrailer was far better then the first saw and the third Hellraiser is worse then the 3rd Saw.....then again Hellrasier 3 was so bad it made me wanna pour acid in my eyes as it would be far less painful then watching the movie.....truth be told I kinda stopped caring about both in their second installments

Hmm...so it is official. Another Halloween release. I guess I'm one of the few people who found the 4th film to be pretty good, so while I'm glad it's being released, I won't be expecting the critics to say much.
