Yesterday I learned something

I learned something yesterday. A desendant of George Washington and a historian came to our church and spoke(dressed as Patrick Henry very funny ) about the Christian haritage of our country. Non-religious people are unfortunately trying to erase the Christian heritage from our textbooks. Ben Franklin(a deist) said this:

"Our country is best founded upon a system of Christian principles."

It says nothing about "separation of church & state" in the DoI, this term is from a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Convention.

Not until 1965 were people complaining about school prayer, and that's when crime went up coincidentially.

I wouldn't believe there's anything more to this than coincidence. ;)

The last time we mixed politics and religion, people burned at the stake, just remember that.

With all due respect Sir, I really don't care. All I know is we're not crazy like they were. That is an ASSumption.

It's all about causality.

Just because the amount of pirates have dwindled since the 1600s and global warming has increased since the 1600s does not mean that there is a affecting link between the two.

Officially REFERRED TO as a Kingdom, but the king has pretty literally no power and everyone's aware of that, even him.

We're a parliamentary/Constitutional democracy, actually.

Kind of like the Queen in Great Britain. A figure head, more than anything.

And the person at the top in Sweden is...the Prime Minister?

Yes. The word for it is literally translated to "State Minister", while we have a different word for Prime Minister, but the two are completely identical and in English, Prime Minister is used.

I can't point them out, but I'll sum up my feelings in a song I wrote:

History Fantasy

Opening the book through passages of time
You can't see any sign
That there were any true god-fearing men
Faith erased from the pages of history
A New World Order, you say?
Or is it just a tragedy?

They're rewriting history
Trying to change society
Doing more harm than good
all across this history fantasy
(history fantasy...history fantasy)

They say oooohhh
religion has only caused war
they kick any good contributions
Straight ouuuuut the doooooooooor

(history fantasy, it's a...)
(Solo starts here)
[Spoken word, under guitar solo]
Our Founding Fathers were not Christian. Don't listen to them, we're the truly knowledgeable ones. Religion is nothing more then a delusion made by childish people. We are our own gods.

They can't seem to find
Or are they playing blind?
They claim they're trying to stop anarchy
But all they're doing is causing denial

They're rewriting history
Trying to change society
Causing more crime than peace
all across this history fantasy
(history fantasy.. it's a.history fantasy)

Can't say you're working well for your argument there.

No offense intended, after all it does not concern me that much. I just wanted to know.

Ok, I'll actually explain it now. cross-eyed

Ben Franklin himself said that the government is based on Christian principles.

Patrick Henry was a firm believer in the Bible, and spent hours praying before decisions.

Thomas Jefferson, although not truly Christian, did believe the Ten Commandments were very much a good foundation to stand on.
