Well I found it fair time I made a Texas Chainsaw Massacre thread....Well I'll start of by saying the Texas Chainsaw Massacre did NOT really happen and has been a common misconception particularly since the crappy remake with it's so call "real footage".

The original franchise contained 4 films:

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974):
Directed by Tobe Hooper was a horror classic mainly due to gritty realism which made it all seem believable even if the plot itself was actually almost non-existent. The film while looks dated and low budget in a way oddly kinda adds to it tone and even more oddly makes it look less staged and is what gave it it's gritty feel.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986):
Also directed by Tobe Hooper wasn't a rushed out sequel as he didn't want to make a sequel that was practically the same film all over again. While I personally found it to be a better film it received mixed feelings as it was to many too different more orientated to dark humor, surreal visuals and actually showing the gore rather then implying it....the film also had more of a plot and has become one of the biggest love it or hate it films in horror history though seems more popular today then it was back in the 80's.

Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1989):
This film was made as an attempt to replace Freddy Kruger after a not so good run at the boxoffice in Nightmare 5 but ended being even less successful. The film itself is certainly better then most slasher films around as to keeps the pace up and is well enough directed....but was ultimately the beginning of the decline for the series....like number 2 has gotten more popular in recent years then it was in the day.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Next Generation (1994):
Written and directed by the co-writer of them original Kim Henkle you'd hope it to be good....the it couldn't be more the opposite as it's actually one of the worst horror sequels ever made and unlike 2 and 3 has remained just as hated for good reason.

Then we have the Remake and it's Prequel.....well they were both pretty poor also so I'd rather not go into great deal as the best way to describe them is flat and this post is already long enough....sufficed to say neither were any good.

I wouldn't go walking right into anyones house, but it was the 70's...I guess people were a little friendlier then and less cautious. Nowadays you could expect to be met with the barrel of a shotgun walking into a house like that.

Well I've seen things from the 50's which implied people from rural America would shoot at people who were on their property so I find it unlikely that the 70's would be any different....hell even Drayton Sawyer said that people around those parts aren't friendly to those poking around their property when they were at the gas station so.....I still say it's full blown stupidity on Kirk's behalf

The warning definetly should have been enough, that much is true. For me, the creepiness of the house would have been enough to keep me far away. It's possible that Kirks stupidity came from the script trying to fit the teens into the cliche "carefree" roles that many teen types have in these kinds of films.

Kim Henkel has written another script for what may be the next Texas Chainsaw Massacre film. The link: http://www.horror-movies.ca/horror_11684.html

Yikes I think Kim Henkel can't make anything remote good without Tobe Hooper there who I suspect was the one with the talent.....Henkel made the 4th asn that was one of the most unholy tragedies committed to film with no redeemable traits what so ever....Henkel couldn't even throw together a coherent narrative.....I think his done enough damage to that franchise

you could say that....then again it might be due to this claims that the 4th travesty he claimed was the real sequel and fixed the franchise.....kinda leaved you with very little faith in his talents

There's a rumor circulating at "SlashFilm" that Tobe Hooper is in talks to direct another "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" film. Read more: http://www.horror-movies.ca/horror_16864.html

It's actually a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper's '74 classic and is called The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. It's scheduled to open in theaters in October of 2012. Here's an update including a video clip of original "Leatherface" actor Gunnar Hansen: http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/25732

I just now noticed this thread ....

I have always enjoyed TCM movies .... well the originals .... They still remain to be one of the most creepy and disturbing movies to be made.
On a positive note, I actually enjoyed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning - Unrated (New Line Platinum Series) (2006). topper
Although I haven't seen the 2003 remake.

If you like the original '74 Tobe Hooper directed classic I'm confident you'd like the 2003 TCM movie albeit probably not quite as much. R. Lee Ermey's character in this film is memorably twisted and the makeup effects are marvelous. thumbz up

I hope the movie has "in your face" 3D; instead of the 3D where you feel like you are in the movie. I want to see blood flying in my face and the chainsaw coming down to cut my head.

That would be cool, and sterescopic 3D is capable of that to a degree...but I think the effect is used to render depth in film alot more often as opposed to havin things "pop out" just because it is more effective in that regard. Resident Evil Afterlife did a pretty good job of havin things flying at the screen, but I've noticed most stereoscopic 3D films emphasize depth.

Probably won't even be worth downloading. I'm sure we are all familiar with the fact that most of the time, the unrated cut of any film (especially ones that are already a hard R) have only one or two brief scenes or a couple of more graphic versions of a scene that hardly amount to anything.

This smells like a ploy to get more people into UltraViolet. I've heard it's not a very popular format, most people seem to regard it as more trouble than its worth.
