Welcome to the official "Friday the 13th" topic, for those of you who dont know this series, its the one with the Iconic Character "Jason Voorhees", However in the first one the killer was Jason's Mother.

here's the series in order:

Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th Part 2

Friday the 13th Part 3

Friday the 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter

Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning

Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives

Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood

Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan

Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday

Jason X

Freddy vs Jason (Crossover with the "A Nightmare on elm street" franchise)

I found out about Jason when I watch "Freddy vs Jason", while Jason didnt interest me as much as Freddy Krueger, I decided to check out the films, I still havent got all of them, but Im planning to. noddy

I have all the "Friday The 13th" films on DVD...I haven't watched them all yet. I'm not including Freddy Vs Jason here, by the way.

I still prefer the first three in the series. ;)

Here's a "Friday The 13th" website dedicated to the movies and related: http://www.fridaythe13thfilms.com/

Well, there is a "The Official Horror Movies Thread" in this forum but, like "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "A Nightmare On Elm Street" and "Saw" topic threads, the "Friday The 13th" series of films, IMO justifies its own thread because of its longevity and great popularity among a wide spectrum of horror movie fans.

Ah these films make good Saturday night Entertainment....only problem is that tend to be mostly very similar and because I haven't watched them in years they all kinda blend into my mind as one big jumbled blur....I really should watch them all again

Looks like the casting of Jason Voorhees in the "Friday The 13th" remake is set. To see who will, in all likelihood, play the role, click this link: http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/11772

Well, it ain't Kane Hodder but, all things considered, this fellow might pull off the role okay. He looks like the last guy on Earth who'd hold a teacup with his pinky finger sticking out, that's for sure. ;)

Well Kane Hodder said himself that he thinks he had put on too much weight to play the role so it clearly doesn't bother him that his out of the role....also gotta credit that honesty

The trailer for Jason X(2001): http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7...QN6W-qQKuteCUCg

I've always liked this film: Jason employs a variety of methods to kill his victims and the android vs Jason battle, the first one, was cool to watch. I also liked how Jason looked after his accidental nanobyte "upgrade". There was plenty of eye candy in this movie, my favorite being hottie Alexa Doig. tongue-1

I havent seen "Jason X" yet but like Slain said I feel similar because alot of the Friday the 13th films are jumbled in my mind and I can't remember which is which. I can distinguish the 1st one easy because it's his mom that's featured but after that my memory is hazy. I thought about renting Jason X but I should probably watch some of the other films again first.

I can't say I liked Jason X....that was my personal least favourite of the franchise. Maybe my hatred for it was abit rash but it really rubbed me up the wrong way

Packmule,

How would you rate the films from your most favorite to least favorite? (You can include FvsJ)
1. Friday The 13th(1980)
2. Friday The 13th Part 3(1982)
3. Friday The 13th Part 2(1981)
4. Freddy Vs Jason(2003)
5. Jason X(2002)
6. Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter(1984)
7. Friday The 13th: A New Beginning(1985)
8. Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives!(1986)
9. Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood(1987)
10. Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan(1989)
11. The Final Friday: Jason Goes To Hell(1993)

Based on the quality of the "Friday" films towards the end I would have personally preferred to see Jason "go to hell", along with any more ideas for continuing these sequels, after either the third(or fourth) movie in this series.

Despite the affiliation horror fans maintain with a hockey mask and horror icon Jason Voorhees it wasn't until the third "Friday The 13th" film that Mr. Voorhees first donned the mask, as the hulking killer wore a burlap sack over his head in the second installment. This has left many fans wondering what he will wear in the "Friday" remake, set to open in theaters in February, 2009. The answer is Voorhees will wear both: http://www.cinematical.com/2008/06/10/friday-the-13th-remake-features-both-sack-and-mask/

I've never seen any of these movies, but I like the character of Jason Voorhees. He's iconic. I don't like the new look they're giving him. Skinny with long blond hair. That just looks weird. Maybe the movie will still be good, though. I need to start watching the older ones. I do like the character and his look, but I always thought of the Friday the 13th movies as lower-budget rip-offs of the Halloween movies. I started watching the first one and it seemed pretty cheap and tacky compared to the first Halloween.

I think Jason looked his absolute coolest in FREDDY VS JASON. He looks okay here, but I agree with Crowmagnumman about the silly blonde hair. And what's with the weapons belt?
