UPDATE!!: "OUTLANDER" IN THEATERS!! This just came to me from the Ad. of the "Outlander" blog: "Hey again Avery

Got some good news, sort of. The weinstein co. is contractually obligated to a theatrical release of Outlander.

I say sort of good because the TWC has dumped films to TWO screens only to fulfill contractual obligations in the past. I have no word on the accuracy of the amazon date but OUTLANDER *will* have a theatrical release

AD
http://outlander.solsector.net/ " So it will get screened after all, but now the questions are how many screens and for how long?? I think it's definitely worth a drive to go see!! rock on

I seriously doubt that they'll give it a wide release, since it's streeting for dvd in November, but maybe they'll give it that 50 screens limited release[they mentioned considering] or a couple of hundred screens release so that we get the chance to catch it?? It's worth a drive to go see.

Yeah, chances are it won't get a release anywhere near me. In a way, I'm kind of glad it's coming to DVD so soon. It's where I prefer to watch movies. But I really only wanted it to get a wide release for the film's sake. Then more people get a chance to see it and it becomes the success it deserves to be.

Yeah I avoided watching those new clips since they were in Spanish. I wish they'd release this movie in American already.

I feel likewise. What makes this movie appealing to me:

-the presence of quality actors like Jim Caviezel and John Hurt, along with the monster design. The monster, the "Moorwen", looks truly hellified. shokked

If only the Weinstein co. was as excited about this movie as we are. Usually straight to DVD is a bad sign, but I'd like to think that this could be an exception.

Well, chances are that I'll have to see it on DVD. I live too far from a major city. Bummerific.

I would imagine, Crow that this film will be out on Region 1 DVD within four months, which has been the standard for most films coming out in recent years.
