Here's a really fun looking new film project. It's based on an old short lived Charlton comic book series named "Reptisaurus, The Terrible" that started out [for only the first 2 issues] as an adaption of the 'Reptilicus' movie. It's the directorial debut of Chris Ray, the son of b-movie master Fred Olen Ray. It's a low-budget feature, but is looking better and better as production moves along. It is now in post with 'Voreville' working on the spfx. It should see a release soon enough, and the trailer can't be far away. Here's a scoop on it with pics: http://roberthood.net/blog/index.php/2008/...ew-reptisaurus/ and here's a newer rendition of the creature in flight: http://robojapan.blogspot.com/2008/03/cool...eptisaurus.html then two video test clips of the monster breathing fire[NOTE:it doesn't in the actual film]: http://www.voreville.com/blog/?p=91 and finally, the company that's producing the film's official website with some more pics, but not of the creature: http://howlingmoonproductions.net/index.php bravo clap

Great stuff pal! Fred Olen Ray...now that's a name I haven't heard in a while. He still owns Retromedia, right? heyo

The image of the monster looks good. The comic image reminds me of a winged T-Rex.

I look forward to seeing this movie when it's a finished product. thumbs up

Yeah he still runs 'Retro-Media' and still makes fun b-movies. This film was actually first announced there on the message boards by the proud father. It's in post production with 'Voreville' touching up the fx. We should see a trailer soon. :)

Thread drift: you know, it'd be great to get a guy like Fred Olen Ray to register and post at this site, and/or his son. thumbs up

Topic: Any chance this film might show up on any cable channel, like The Sci-Fi Channel? heyo

Due to the limited budget, that's probably where it's headed. I think it might just be one of those rare films that stand-out there though. Their teaming with 'Voreville' seems to give it a bit more edge. It will hopefully land some b-fests screenings first. I'm really anxious to see it, and the reaction from kaiju fans has been pretty good. :)

LOL!! Well they're good at details=lol!! Here's the poster for it: http://roberthood.net/blog/index.php/2008/...rus-poster-art/ I think it's very fitting for the film and looks like the film is going to embrace it's low-budget, b-movie roots. :)

I saw Gil Gerard on the cover art. I wonder what he's been up to since his "Buck Rogers" days. heyo

That's a good question?? Why don't you just "ASK THE DIRECTOR"!! himself?? Yep, here's your rare chance guys/gals to actually ask a director of the kaiju genre whatever it is you may like!! Just remember to be respectful, because rudeness will be edited: http://roberthood.net/blog/index.php/2008/...ctor-chris-ray/ Enjoy!! dancing cheeky smiley

New pics from the film have been released:

http://robojapan.blogspot.com/2009/01/new-photos-from-fred-olen-rays.html

and again here:

I think it looks like fun for a low budget monster romp.

It's been a while, but the dvd release is getting closer. Soon...soon I'm told. Aargh!! I'm getting so impatient. Meanwhile, as a side note; the first country to actually see the film's release is.....Japan!!?? Ha! Go figure! However; it's releasing under the unusual title of "Sky Fighter"[?!] there! When you ask? Well, today[June 10th.] of course[NOTE: the monster is barely visible in the Japanese artwork]:
