Spent 10 days in the hospital, around 3 months in rehab, and now I'm down to 2 more days of being done in another recovery program.

For those of you don't know, I've been going through a lot of problems such as not going to school and using LSD.

The programs overall didn't help me at all because I'm really too stubborn even though I took part and gave it a try. I plan to be going back to school on next Monday and continuing my life pretty much ordinarily for now on. Do I plan on quitting LSD, no not at all, but I do plan on cutting down a lot which already is proving to be easy.

Wish me luck.

I hope this convalescence of yours has done your mind and heart good, Corey.

Obviously I'm not going to tell you what to do but I absolutely believe attending, and graduating from high school, and your cessation of LSD use would help get you back on the road to recovery.

Only you can effect change within yourself, Corey. These programs can, and do help but ultimately, and I'm sure you realize, it's the person in the program who has to "put in the work" for these programs to work. If one(or two) don't work I hope you won't give up on the idea they can work for you.

There's something to be said for "ordinary", I think, Corey. Perhaps it will do you some good right now.

If cutting back only partially, at first, is what you believe you need to do get this stuff out of your life then by all means do it but I can't emphasize enough how much I'd like to see you leave this crap behind...and permanently.

Good luck Corey and keep us appraised of your progress.

I'll be going back to school this Monday for a 2 class day which is really stressing me out, mostly because directly after school I've got to go to IOP until 5:30.

Pardon my ignorance here but what does IOP stand for? heyo

I honestly don't know what it stands for. :x

I'll explain in a different way, I went to a program called high focus for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, they "step you down" if you're doing well to another program that pretty much is the same besides of the times you go in. IOP is the program you're "stepped down" to.

It's mainly just group therapy, which doesn't help me at all.

I see. I can empathize with you here. When I went to anger management counseling on and off(from 1992-1995) the counselor I met with for an hour each week(for $25 a visit) suggested I become involve in a "group" session. I refused because I had no interest whatsoever in sharing my problems or things going on in my head with people who were not, as I saw it, qualified to try and help me like my counselor was.

There's no magic formula, medicine, or specific words, Corey, that can take away your unhappiness. I can tell you this: you will be the vehicle by which it happens...or doesn't. Waiting around for it to happen won't work.

For me, what keeps me from being miserable, and I have been totally miserable at times in my life, are hobbies, exercise, doing something for a living that I like to some degree, and keeping in contact with the handful of friends I have. I find that staying busy helps also, because it makes me feel useful, and I believe a man benefits from that feeling, Corey.

Just my opinion. :)

I'm trying to find hobbies, but I'm losing interest in everything, for instance, while I'm typing this very message I'm fighting the urge to just crash and go to bed.

I've felt the same way. Hell, I still do sometimes. I recognize that feeling this way is going to happen, from time to time. The important thing is not to give up and completely give in to these feelings. ;)

The medicine I'm on for depression makes me tired, and being tired gets me more down. I've talked to my parents but they don't want me off of it. Another thing is I don't feel any different with the medicine.

Corey, have your parents told the doctor who prescribed the medicine you're on about your side effect of feeling tired? Assuming they have what did the doctor have to say about this?

Actually yes they have, and the doctor wants me to stay on it too.

If that's the case then I'd comply with the doctor's instructions Corey. I know it's tough. ;)

I don't think I'd ever stop taking a medicine, especially one for depression, but still, I wish they'd just let me ween off of it and start something else that could potentially help me.

Perhaps the doctor(s) will, in time. :)

Well it's a shame that it's become second nature to use it >.>

Best of luck with your schooling though.
