I wasnt a big fan of this movie either, but then again I can't say I was a huge fan of the first 3 to begin with. Harrison Ford's double is somewhat noticeable in this film in a couple scenes, but like you guys said he does manage to hold his own better than I thought he would.

I agree that Le Bouf is awful, I don't know what big name directors are seeing in this guy, I personally felt that he was a big factor in what made Transformers so dissapointing, and his presence here isn't welcome either.

That said, I also tend to agree that it was the script that really weighed this film down. It seemed to run in circles and lacked much surprise or excitement. Early on in the movie we already knew what the characters had to do to reach the kingdom, so the whole act of finding the skull and then following the path was already pre-told. Because of this, we already knew most of what was going to occur and it just felt bogged down at that point.

I don't want to say this film was totally awful, because in my opinion it wasnt. But it was far from superb, and felt like just another high budget action film. Maybe I judged it harder because Im not a big fan of the series though. At the end of the day I'm sure there are plenty who will enjoy this film though, and for Indy fans Im glad they finally got a sequel for their sake. Me, I'm still a little bitter that I got dragged into this film when I was trying to go see the new Narnia film.

Wow, I might be in the minority here but I actually liked Indy 4. It's below Last Crusade and Raiders but above Temple. I take all the mystical/sci-fi elements out of the picture due to it being an Indy movie, you just know you're going to see the fantastic and unbelievable. I mean, half of the stunts in Temple were only 2% more realistic than Crystal Skull's. That combined with the fact that Indy Jr. (Shia) really didn't annoy me like I thought he would (I hated Short Stack and the woman in Temple... god I hated them) made it rank higher than Temple.

It was basically nice to see the "family" angle to this one and Indy's return was welcomed by me. He doesn't look like he's aged a bit. I'd give Indy 4 a 7.5 or an 8. Not the greatest, but I feel a little suspension of disbelief is needed. I mean it's not like the other Indy's didn't feature a Deus Ex Machina Arc that neatly killed all the bad guys, or Voodoo or dead Knights telling him where to go. If it's too out there, it's not like the other Indy's haven't strayed into that territory IMO. Anyway, that's my take on it.

Really?....I thought Temple of Doom was underrated...sure not as good as Raiders or Last Crusade but still one of the greatest action adventure films out....and I liked Short Round. Crystal Skull was just one of the worst sequels ever made....truly awful....I might be being closed minded here but I really can't see anything about this film to like...truly dreadful

I liked the movie. CGI was over-done, as always. But I really liked in. And I like Temple of Doom. Short-Round is cool

I went to see this at the theatre over Memorial Day weekend. I didn't come away hating this film, but wasn't totally in love with it, either. Personally, I thought the Russians/Communists made for poor villains, compared to the Nazis....in fact, they were a very small part of the film.

Seeing Jones aged wasn't such a shock, I thought he looked like he should, given it 1957 or so. I enjoyed seeing Marion Ravenwood, as well. I thought they had their son come to grips with the fact Jones was his Dad a bit sooner than most people might come to terms with it. I thought the alien slant could have been more interesting than it was, so I guess you can say I'm somewhere in the middle on this film. My youngest brother, who is a HUGE fan of the franchise, came away from his viewing, terribly disappointed.

While I agree that bringing Marion Ravenwood back was a good idea particularly since the other women he had a thing for was either a wuss, or a Nazi. Unfortunately Lucas wrote he in very poorly kinda like how everything else in the script was poorly written

At any rate I think it's safe to say that, at 65 years of age, Harrison Ford will not be appearing in any more "Indiana Jones" films.

Well according to Lucas it sounds there will be....but it sounds like it would be only a bigger insult then Crystal Skull (if that's possible) as Indy will replaced foe the lead with Shia LaDouche and Indy himself will take a back seat much like Sean Connery did as Indy's father in Last Crusade......I gotta say but that is news that bums me out big time

well that's never stopped Lucas from committing dreadful ideas to film before....I mean he hasn't had any good contributions to the movie world in a long time all he seems to do these days is go around systematically killing off his my famous film franchises by making dreadful sequels....He did it with Star Wars and now his doing it with Indiana Jones......and the fact is even if he does make it there will be thousands upon thousands of geeky Lucas fan boys which will call it great because they will delude themselves into thinking it's good.

^I don't think I'm a "deluded fanboy" when I say I've enjoyed ALL six Star Wars movies. REVENGE OF THE SITH is one of my favorites.

Oh, I wouldn't say that. I actually enjoyed the SW prequels. Episode 1 was ok, Episode 2 was good, but then Episode 3 "Revenge of the Sith" was very good. I doubt that next Indy film will happen anyways. Lucas will have his hands full with the SW TV series. (which i'm looking forward to btw)

Paramount is still adjusting after the loss of HD-DVD. They're gonna be a little slow converting their titles (including Indy) to the Blu-Ray format. To cash in on the movie Paramount had to quickly strike while the hype was at its peak. Thus, the standard-def release.
I'll wait for the blu ray releases then. After seeing what these movies look like on USAHD, it'll be worth it.
