1)Did you know that The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms was the film that inspired Toho to make the original Godzilla? heyo

2)What is your opinion on Jason and the Argonauts (1963)? heyo

Personally, I don't believe Beast from 20,000 Fathoms inspired Godzilla (1954) since The Beast premiered in Japan one month after the first Godzilla was in theaters. winky

Matthew, I have seen repeated references in internet articles(and books) stating that Gojira(1954) was inspired, at least partly, by the 1953 film "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms", a movie based on a Ray Bradbury story of the same name. I can provide some links if you'd like. winky

No thanks, but now that you mention the story, I do believes it s possible that the story inspired Godzilla but I don't think the movie did, just read these release dates:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047034/releaseinfo (Godzilla's release date was the 2nd of November, 1954)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0045546/releaseinfo (The Beast's release date in Japan was the 22nd of December, 1954)

If you don't like Syphen's birthday gift for you are you going to:

A) politely accept it anyway and act like you like it

B) toss it in the garbage later when he's not around

C) rip it apart in front of him and curse him out in a fit of rage

?
