I can?

I also don't want to push it. Whether I like it or not, I am not liked a lot in the Godzilla community. And I do not want to seem pushy. I want to enlighten, not be a blowhard.

I understand what you're saying here. Believe me when I tell you that I have many of my own detractors(those who strongly dislike me) among various kaiju internet message boards.

Suggestion: send this interview(or material you're referring to) to August Ragone. Don't add a lot of rambling with it. Just something brief and to the point.

Let me add something here about your remark "I am not liked a lot in the Godzilla community": it may not be who you are that's disliked but what you do on these message boards.

Some things I would challenge you to try and do to improve how others perceive you at message boards:

-improve your spelling
-be a little less opinionated and more open to others' opinions and perspectives on things

I didn't say you're not open to other's opinions. I said try and be more open to them.

I'm going to hit the rack. Goodnight.

How can I be more open? I read, if I disagree I ignore, if I disagree but see it's points are good I change my opinion to be more resourcefull, or if I strongly disagree I bash. If you are talking about stopping the bashing, that isn't happening. If you don't stand up for something, you fall for anything. Like D-WAR, accouple of friends of mine have bashed some people.

Then you can expect to continue to be regarded with disdain by some of your fellow members at internet message boards. winky

I disagree. I frequently abstain from "standing up" for something, as you allude to, but you better believe I am also someone who does not just fall for anything. There's the saying "pick your battles" and I employ these three words when it comes to things you have touched on.

And if you strive to be like them then I would suggest to you that you need new friends. It's easy to bash anything, G2K, especially at an internet message board. "Bashing", even if you support your "bash" with facts, can make you appear arrogant to others at discussion boards. Rather than "bash" think of your words as "constructive critique". Adopt that mindset.

I think it's totally possible to stand by your opinion while still respecting another person's opinion. Good conversation is kind of a battle. You got to know when to hold your ground, when to retreat, and when to turn to diplomacy. Diplomacy pretty much describes how I conduct my conversations. You do your best to make the other person feel good about himself while also respecting yourself.

Agreed. It is essentially the foundation on which this message board is based. winky

I appreciate the sentiment, G2K. You have great enthusiasm for many of the things talked about on kaiju message boards which is good and along with that many things to offer as a member of these boards. If you take to heart some of the things I've said to you, and simply be yourself, I'm confident you'll always have a positive experience here and at any other discussion board you post at.

There are, to be sure, a handful of message boards where you would, in all likelihood, and regardless of your posting "style", receive hostility, rudeness and open sarcasm: IMDB, Toho Kingdom's forums, and CHUD. winky

Here's a suggestion. You know that function some forums have called "View Posts Since Last Visit"? I think it's a pretty handy fuction. It doesn't display individual posts, but threads that have been updated since your last visit. If you ever get a chance, I think this would be a great improvement. If not that, then at least maybe a "view last 30(etc.) posts function" or something like that.

I will look into this, Crow at the combined Invisionfree/Zetaboards support site. This board has an index of all (coded) modifications to ZB and if there's a code for what you describe, it'll be at this site. winky
