I couldn't find a post on this, so if I've missed one, please feel free to delete this post. I was really against this remake, as I think the original is classic and it first appeared that they were going to make this film too comical, but in viewing the trailer, online, that may not be the case. I see Brendan Fraser and that worried me just a wee bit, only because most of the films I've seen him in have had a comical slant. While I don't hate comedy, I just feel that there should be with some films a definite line between horror or sci-fi and comedy. The trailer for this can be found at IMDb or You Tube, if anyone is interested. I believe this opens on 11 July. |

![]() That's got me worried as well. I watched the trailer, found here: http://www.journey3dmovie.com/ It looks like a CGI heavy "Disney" style adventure, not altogether bad I guess but still, I like my action adventures on the dark and gritty side, Kimi.

I'm with you, Lee. I have nothing against kids, heck, I was one myself, but I don't always understand this overall need to pack each and every film with young kids and pre-teens. Again, no offense to anyone, but I think we adults need some films that are geared more towards us...not just action/dramas/thrillers, but sci-fi and horror, too. I think if this upcoming film had a more adult edge to it, it might be a big hit across a wider viewing audience. The original film had some comedic moments, no doubt, but it didn't come across as a 'kids' film. I'm probably burying myself with each word I type out, but again, this isn't a slam against kids or pre-teens, I just wish Hollywood would try and entertain adults, too. I read on another message board a long time ago, most of Hollywood looks at dino films and the like as being only of interest to kids.....I've always loved dino films, yes, it started as a kid, but that love has carried through my adult years, too. |

Interesting info on the special effects....thanks, Lee! Remember back in the day, when matte paintings were often used and some used very well, in fact? |
