Sometimes I've tried making movies. This is my latest effort. It's about a man who lives alone, but soon begins to wonder if he really is alone. The movie has problems, but I think my movies get better each time.

ALONE - Part 1(Youtube)

ALONE - Part 2(Youtube)

ALONE - Part 1(Vimeo)

My overall reaction after watching both parts: bravo clap

I liked how you established the character's isolation: the barren landscape especially was effective.

It looked like the image was "widescreen". What aspect ratio is this video? heyo

I thought keeping the antagonist(s) unseen was also good though I admit I was ready to see some kind of "reveal" by the end of the second part.

Great job. I enjoyed watching this work of yours more than a lot of movies I've seen on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Are you going to produce a part three for Alone?

Thanks for the comments and compliments. mildsmile I wish I could have shown something near the end, and originally I'd planned to show "something," but since I'm zero budget, I left it ambiguous. There are several interpretations.

I filmed it in 16:9 Widescreen on a Canon HV20. Pretty cool camera for what I could afford. And I just loved doing it in widescreen. Makes it feel more like a movie.

ALONE was originally intended as sort of a prequel to another movie which I'd wanted to make first, but the prequel seemed easier to make so I did it instead. So if there is another part to ALONE, I guess it wold be a part 2. I had to split ALONE into two parts for the web, but it's really one movie.

Your short movie proves that an effective horror film doesn't have to have gratuitous gore or outrageous looking monsters in order to be scary.

I look forward to seeing other submissions of yours as you make them. thumbz up

Thanks. I completely agree. Although gore can be good when used right, your point rings true. Often the scariest stuff is that which is left to the imagination. A perfect example of this would be Forbidden Planet, the movie referenced in ALONE. It really scared me as a kid, and holds a strange eeriness even to this day.

I'd love to make more movies, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to. Thanks for watching. mildsmile If I ever make anything else I will be sure to post a link to it here.
