Yeah with a '$' sign instead of an 'S'. It was first an award-winning Australian horror/comedy short film from 2007 about a giant squid in the Brisbane river. Now it is becoming a feature-length film version and it sounds hilarious. Here's a little more details including that original short in full: http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/beware-the-giant-river-dwelling-cephalopod-here-comes-the-squid#extended and: http://io9.com/5041137/dont-go-boati...-a-giant-squid and here's the official website: www.squidmovie.com and: http://www.squidmovie.com/cast.html All I wanna know is if they keep the same basic plot from the short....does the squid finally get his damn money?? very funny

Our new article on this wacky new horror-comedy which puts an entirely different and unique new spin on the giant man-eating cephalopod film. Including the teaser trailer, some behind-the-scenes pics, a 15 part making of documentary, the original award-winning short film that inspired this 'darker' feature length version and another hilarious early short from the film makers entitled "Adrift" which is a must see. The film is now in post-production as we anxiously await the official trailer and any new release details. In the meantime enjoy!!:

From what I've gathered from the film makers it's to be more of a horror film but will showcase their really dark sense of humor. Definitely a darker more serious version than the original short film was. Their other short "Adrift" really shows more of their dark humor style and is hilarious. I'm very excited about this film and really wish that others were. I truely believe that these film makers will bring us a highly enjoyable film with this one. A majority of the fans/readers aren't familiar with these guys and just seem to not be able to get past the guy owing the giant squid money part and assume that this will be just a silly comedy, but these guys are real geniuses and super talented and if anyone could pull this weirdness off and deliver the goods then it would be them.

I just watched the short film it's based on, and I thought it was pretty funny actually. I thought this would end up a cheap, badly-acted monster movie, but I think they're actually going to make a good movie here.
