-Reissue of Starman with only full screen transfer

Question: why invest in a full screen transfer which shows the movie's image cropped and not the way it was presented in movie theaters? heyo

I did not know. I knew Starman was reissued but I did not know the disc only had full screen. But it is still the way I first saw it and so at least I get nostalgic value out of it. Plus, 4 Dvds for that price! Now I own

Assault On Precinct 13
Halloween
The Thing
Christine
Starman
Big Trouble in Little China
Prince of Darkness
Ghost of Mars

I have the fog, Escape From New York and Escape From LA on tape. All three films were caught on widescreen channels.

I wanna show you guys something. It is a vid, and a special one to me. I am a fanboy of John Carpenter, equal to that of G2K. If I see a film in the Bargain bins, I slip it infront of a dvd rack with the supposedly "new and just released" films and stuff. Well, the clip is special because it was my first insight into John's amazing career. I would watch it every time I got a new film on DVD, which chonologicaly would be:

Big Trouble in Little China
Prince of Darkness
Halloween
Assault on Precinct 13

and then all at once
The Thing
Starman
Christine
Ghost of Mars

I just watched it again, and it is again a great vid. Watch it.

Well I hope it's good. I want Carpenter to make a big comeback. I'm not that psyched about the idea, but Carpenter's direction will hopefully make it great.

Well, he was doing good with Prolife and Cigaret Burns, both good comebacks since Ghost of Mars. Although Cody, John's Son, may need to get some more style since I was totaly syched about his score for Prolife.

I haven't seen either of those yet. I'm glad he's still working anyway. I didn't know his son was composing now.

John Carpenter's "The Thing" is one of the best horror movies I've seen. In particular, I have to praise its special effects.

"The Thing", when I first watched it, was one of the movies to have scared me the most.

John is one sad guy. He is the one director who has the most remade movies based on his films/screenplays. Thankfully I have not seen They Eyes of Laura Mars. It would be funny to see someone tackle Dark Star though...
