Exactly why collect all of them on VHS? Is it to keep your copies of US versions of the films legal?

Exactly why collect all of them on VHS?
Three reasons:

1. I used to have all of the Godzilla Showa and Heisei films on VHS: I lost or misplaced many of them during my various moves(from one apartment to another) between 1987-1996. I also gave a handful away, including all theee "Daimajin" films on VHS and all three(3) Neptune Media released Gamera films, something I now regret doing. I'm going to try to get back, through these purchases, most of the VHS tapes I either gave away or misplaced.

2. These VHS releases represent a part of Godzilla's history and Toho's kaiji/sci-fi history...and I want to have my little piece of that history.

3. I own a 4 head VCR and am planning on buying another 4 head VCR next month(through Atlanta's "craigslst" ads). I like the idea of retaining an additional, even if dated, means by which to watch some of these films.

You're not a "loon" for owning VHS tapes. I still know a couple of guys who own quite a number of VHS tapes. winky

I'm going to order that DVD-R compilation trailer/outtakes/behind the scenes footage DVD-R tomorrow night.

You will not be disapointed Lee. Since you also lived in the time of these film's theatrical releases, the DVD set should show you alot of new stuff and bring back alot of memories or stuff you may have missed...

And I have made a new collection video...

Uh, question: how do you have any birthday cash left for next month if you use it this month? heyo

Topic - I'm still waiting on the following three VHS titles from Amazon sellers: The Green Slime(1968)(MGM/UA Video), Godzilla Vs Monster Zero(1965)(1989 Paramount Home Video), & The Prey(1984)(1988 HBO Home Video)(this is an 80's slasher horror film still not on DVD).

Just ordered these used(good condition) VHS tapes today from various Amazon sellers:

Godzilla Vs The Smog Monster(1971) ('89 Orion Home Video)

The Magic Serpent(1966) ("Video Steve" widescreen release)

Godzilla 1985 ('89 Anchor Bay/Starz)

Godzilla Raids Again(1955) ('89 Anchor Bay/Starz)

Your G3 collectibles are impressive. Two questions:

1. why don't you have more collectibles of the first two Heisei Gamera films?

2. is your kid brother's hairstyle inspired by your own? tongue-1

1. Because I collect by film. If you see my room, except for my general figure areas, my room is split into 4 sections - G3, GMK, G2K, GVS.D. I am collecting stuff on G3 right now. Though if and when I start collecting on another Gammy film, it would be G:GOTU since there is a nice selection and I can get more international memborbilia.

2. Yes.
