So what film do you think the G-man looked his best?
Imo i think its got to be GMK, He's a towering, evil looking SOB and really sum's up the fear lost in other movies with him in which strayed off the path i think from the very first film Gojira.
What are your thought fellow fans?
Listen kid, there are two things you didn't know about the Earth. One is me. And the other is... Godzilla

I think he probably looked his best in the original, Gojira. He's just never looked as scary as he did then. Besides that, I'd say he looked his best during some of the Heisei series, and maybe GMK.

GMK goji or finaro-goji... I cannot decide... G2K goji would have been kick ass if they used the concept art directly. But saddly, that was not to coe and pass...

This is a tough question. I cannot answer with only one choice but I can narrow it down to three films where I thought Godzilla looked "best":

1. Mothra Vs Godzilla(1964): despite the rampant disdain for the infamous quivering lip on the "Mosugoji" suit in this film(including my own ( tongue-1 ) I found Godzilla's appearance in this film very satisfying:
his heavy brows give him a look that suggest he's not in the best of moods and his overall maquette looks good, the end of his tail rounded and his dorsals neither overly large or small. There was, IMO, a kind of "symmetry", for lack of better word, in G's look in this movie.

2. Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah(1991): I liked this suit best among the Heisei suit renderings, most notably the facial features, which, similar to those in 1989's Godzilla Vs Biollante, looked a little less cat like and more reptilian, including the blinking eyes. I also liked the broader chest on G in this film.

3. Godzilla 2000(1999): I give this a slight nod over the "GMK" Godzilla. I like the overall profile of the monster, my only gripe the gigantic dorsals.

I thought the GMK suit was the biggest, but I could be wrong.

I just think the original suit from Gojira has to be the best, for a few reasons. It looks so much more hideous and frightening than any other Godzilla suit I've seen. Remember that scene from Gojira on Osako island when Godzilla appears over the top of the hill and he turns and roars at Emiko. Godzilla looked like he was almost deformed from the effects of nuclear energy, hence the word "hideous." Further Godzillas never looked quite as frightening, in my opinion.

I agree with you there, from the original i think the godzilla lost the edge looks wise almost comic book style even.

Technicaly, the biggest siut was not worn by a man, but a robot. It was a G85 siut that was 30 feet tall... 1/6 Godzilla's actual size in the film...

30 ft? Holy crap. I hope there's some behind the scenes footage of that somewhere. That's massive.

Does anyone know what the biggest gojira suit is?
If I remember correctly it was the suit used in The Return Of Godzilla. I have asked a member of another message board to help out with this question. Mr. Smiles

But yes, it was a 30ft. siut. After the theatrical road show (films do roadshows in Japans, not full blown national releases) the siut was exhibited. It looks actualy kinda bad in life:

The making of on the Japanese DVD shows the robot.

Does anyone know what the biggest gojira suit is?
I asked Keith Aiken of Sci-Fi Japan, by PM at the ATARI Godzilla forums, this same question. His reply:

Quote:

The GMK Godzilla suit was the largest by far. Most of the Godzilla suit actors aren't very tall so the resulting suits aren't that tall or big.

In GMK, Godzilla is much bigger than his opponents so director Shusuke Kaneko cast stunt actor Mizuho Yoshida to play Godzilla. Yoshida is a big, tall guy who had previously played Zeiram... he's much bulkier than Tsutomu Kitagawa (Godzilla in the Millennium films) who is shorter and wiry like Bruce Lee.

In addition to being built to fit a larger actor, the GMK Godzilla was bulked up and had thick, elephant-like feet that added more height to the suit. The GMK Godzilla suit ended up being a foot taller than any of the other Godzilla suits.

Probably second place would go to the sON OF GODZILLA suit, which was built at a larger scale to create more of a size contrast between Godzilla and Minya. Haruo Nakajima was too small for the suit so he only played Godzilla in the water scenes for that film

Note: G2K, this reply is based on the G suits used by the suit actors. winky

I would have to say that there are two I think he looks great in.

1.) Godzilla and Mothra the Battle for Earth (1992). He just looks so great in this movie.

2.) Godzilla: Final Wars. This is the other movie that I just think he looks great in.
