Just wondered if there were any Metroid fans here. I'm a general Nintendo fan in the sense that I like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon (the games are addicting even to a 20 something) but I LOVE Metroid. Something about the original got to me but Super Metroid just made the series click in my brain. It was so creepy and ambient, it was obviously inspired by Aliens but was very different from it. It was one of my favorite games as a kid and the newer ones don't fail to disappoint (damn you Sonic). I'd really like a movie based on Metroid (well then again I saw Doom so maybe not...) . I'm getting burned out on Alien and the Predator movies since Alien 3. I think if done correctly it could be a smash hit. But then again I'd settle for another Metroid game in the next 5 years so I won't ask for too much. |

I can say I was a fan of the Metroid titles until they started to become first-person based...for some reason they lost their appeal after that. But I've got a lot of good memories from the original Metroid as well as the one for SNES, which was easily one of my favorite all time SNES games. |

Oddly enough I felt the same way at first, mainly due to the control scheme. After playing through a second time I fell in love with the Prime series too. The newest has interesting and good controls (I fail to call it innovative seeing how it's a motion controlled version of a keyboard and mouse). |

I don't have a Wii otherwise I would give the new one a chance, maybe I will someday. Not that it's Metroid's fault, but I'm also up to my neck in so many other FPS games (Resistance, Halo, etc.) that I really just don't have the time to get into another one. |

Yeah same here. The Prime series did a really good job of focusing on exploring like the previous 2d games instead of making it Half-life 3. I'm actually burnt out on FPS's now. I need replayability when I think about purchasing a game. FPS, RPG, and action adventure type games are too much like movies. You blaze through them in 2-4 hours, play a little multiplayer and then you're done. I need something more along the lines of a strategy, fighting or simulation type game so I can justify buying a game now. I feel bad for the loads of FPS's I've got just sitting around because I've beat them once and have no want to go back and beat them again. |

Depending on how in depth the multiplayer is, I can stick with it for awhile in some cases. Halo has a huge online community plus they offer new downloadable maps once in awhile to keep things fresh long after the single player game has been beaten. I have alot of games that lie around as well but I'm not really into trading them in because it seems like every time I do that, I want to revisit the game 3 or 4 months later and regret getting rid of it. Besides gamestop pays crappy prices when they buy used games and I'd rather just keep a game than trade it for a crummy 10 or 15 bucks in store credit. By the way I really hate Gamestop all around, just figured it was as good a time as any to throw that in there. |

I saw this game announced as well on the listing of E3 news. I don't own a Wii, but this looks like a pretty cool game. Unfortunately it's going to be awhile though, as the listing I saw said it won't release until an unannounced date in 2010. |

The only crappy thing is if you have a save on your Wii for MP3 then you won't be able to use it. :( I plan on picking this up because I still need to play through all the games. I got pretty far in Prime but never did finish it and I just rented Prime 2 and 3 and barely scrated the surface with those. |
